886 spring rate is for steel bumpers
    887 is not

idk if there are certain shocks they recommend. I believe OME. As opposed to what technically “fits” like 5100

Or, if you go 6112 for better ride quality, Bilstein also has a steel bumper spring for it (separate)

Yeah thats why I figured if i can get an ome shock setup then maybe they will be able to help me find somto
Support the extra weight and maintain the lift i need because the bilstein/ome setup just doesn’t work in my case apparently.

im not sure what els my options are other than maybe icon coil overs, atleast at that point i can adjust them freely.. but regardless i have to fix this asap.

ideally OME recommends matching its own products with its own products.

doesn’t have to be adjustable. Budget 6112 is not. If you compare to adjustable Icon, the shock body is thinner yet costs more, which is funny.
I don’t need adjustable height on a truck; it’s not a civic getting hellaflush or race car on scales being corner balanced

which, 6112 is still adjustable with 5 clip settings for the perch

Not sure why you went with the 887, my recommendation was to get an OME shock to match the 886.

Wheelers had told me to switch to the 887’s and if they didnt work to look into coilovers. Also it was more affordable to buy new springs than new shocks and if i could fix my issue with a cheaper solution thats what i was trying to do, i may call ome and see what they recommend.

I'm kind of curious about this. Is it the shock topping out or is the stock LCA slamming against its cam bolts? Because when the truck is on jack stands (suspension unloaded), the LCA stops before the shock does.

I told you I was at 3” with no weight. How did you expect to get 3” with 160#? Money would have been more wisely spent on OME shocks. Most gave you good solid info on this thread, IDK why’d you trust wheeler’s opinion when they did you wrong to begin with.

Ome does not offer a 3 inch lift so i dont know what makes you think me listening to you would have gave me a 3 inch lift. I would have to put spacers ontop of the shock to get the full lift, which is no different than what i could do now…

    For your reference,

I feel the Bilstein are valved awesomely for heavy springs and heavy setups but only if you have minimal lift.

I'm running the eibach 725# springs at the 2nd notch after many conversations with eibach and Bilstein techs.

I only have about 2" of lift after all of my weight. Initially it was 3" without weight (on the first notch).

Handling was extremely stiff at first on the first notch and when I had no weight but it has considerably become compliant and overall very good handling characteristics even after going up a notch.

Many friends with Tacoma's utilize how mine handles as a base line for their modifications these last few years.

Here's a pic of the shock setup. You can also check out my rig on my profile.
