I loved cruising the Autobahn @150 mph (240ish kph) in a BMW 5 Series and having some exotic Porsche or something of the like blow your doors off. Good times. :)

I had a little Renault Captur. I don't think I had that car above 90mph. Wasn't sure if the car could handle more than that. I actually enjoyed cruising the back roads in Austria more.

In my younger days here, I had my Trans Am going about 160mph on I-495. Two old guys in an AMG SL55 laughed at me as they flew by me.

At least it wasn't a Cadillac, and you weren't driving a Hot Rod Lincoln....

My buddy and I did 235 km/h in a 5-series on the AutoBahn in Bavaria.. I was more impressed that I didn't feel a thing while we were moving that fast.

I also had the privilege of getting a shit-box rental up to 205 km/h on the Stuart Highway in the NT before limits were imposed back in '06... Doing 160 km/h was easy... but going much faster was a challenge and tiring.

I only remember seeing one yellow stop sign in my life and it was very old and rusty.

It was way out in the desert, as a relic from some ghost town, and it has three round red bicycle reflectors across it. It was also much smaller than modern stop signs. Early cars didn’t go fast enough to need big stop signs.

so have you seen an outdoor rock concert of any type in Utah?

I saw Alice Cooper at the Bonneville Raceway Park, and it was so loud they banned all outdoor concerts in the state.

I don’t know if they ever rescinded that.

I do remember seeing Jethro Tull and Yes and the Electric Light Orchestra, all at the Salt Palace.

Ian Anderson came out on stage in some day-glow electric cod piece outfit that he blamed on David Bowie having left it in the dressing room.

Nah, there's plenty of outdoor venues these days, but I could imagine that "old school" Utah may not have been so accommodating.

The stories about when Limp Bizkit RATM came to the sleepy town of Spanish Fork to perform at the rodeo grounds are pretty hysterical too.

I went to college in Logan and I remember if you wanted hard liquor you had to go to a state liquor store.

Otherwise you could get beer and wine anywhere except on Sundays.

Still have the state ABC stores for the hard stuff, but wine is there too. Not too dissimilar to VA to be honest except for they have wine in grocery stores.

I don't mind it too bad, but def is nice when I got back and visit Washington and you can get whatever you want at the grocery store like a dang grown up.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I seldom was allowed to use the Phone so I really don`t remember i am sure it happened.

Then a telephone was considered a luxury just like indoor plumbing..

The 60 amp electric service was in the milk house 40amps to the barn 20 amps to the house.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
We had archery class in the wrestling room. They were the cheapest non-lethal bows you could buy.

My grandfather would always buy them for us at the corner grocery about a block from their house in Mid-city New Orleans. My grandfather smoked cigarettes that advertised "LSMFT"... remember that?

    And holidays...

While you could get beer in most groceries, I think it was limited to 3.2 beer. Not sure if the limits have been lifted..
Everything was available in the State Store...

Funny thing, when I was in SLC skiing last winter, the state stores were closed for two days (Sunday, President's Day), and when I went on Tuesday, the line outside the door to get in was as if concert tickets were on sale at Ticketmaster...

My farmhouse had 60 Amp service when I bought it... Fuses and all. One circuit for the barn. One circuit for the boiler, and the two remaining circuits for everything else.
When you started the toaster, the lights dimmed 20%.

That was the first thing I took care of...

One wonders how we survived. But I guess at the time all you really needed was lights and some small appliances.
