I have the Toyo Open Country AT3, LT, in 285/70/17. Minimal highway noise, and really impressive in the slippery dirt/deep sand combo in my area.

Great so far, but will know more as we get our first big storms of the season in the next month. Only dealt with minor precip so far.

I have the cooper at3 4s. Really great tire. Handle some light off-roading no problem. Good in the rain. But I'm always a little bit nervous taking a passenger rated tire off-road by myself.

I've been wanting some e rated just to try them out and go bigger. I'm trying to Toyo at3 255/80/17 next week. They come in at 50 lb which is light for e-rated tires. I'll come back in a few months and give my comparisons.

Toyo drives great too. It's an eload, so a little more rough on the street. My truck isn't a daily driver anymore so I'm fine with that. If it was, I'd probably stick with the cooper AT3 4s standard loads

I have AT3s also.. why is it rough on the streets? What PSI are you running in your tires?

My Toyo at3 are a little more rough because they are e load tires. My Cooper AT3 4s were standard load so they felt better on the street.

Running about 34-36psi with my eloads

Why so high? Have you tested the contact patch at that PSI? I run my KO2's (E load) at 25psi. I didn't even run my Cooper AT3's SL load rating that high.

I haven't tested it but I tried 25 and it felt and looked way too squishy for me. I'll do the test soon.

I did a static test (painted tread and lowered onto clean cardboard) and at 25psi all tread blocks made contact and the shoulder blocks only left a faint image and at 23psi the shoulder blocks left a nice dark imprint just as the center did. So I settled on 25.

I'm used to them at this point and don't even think they're rough... But in comparison to the cooper AT3 I had before, I noticed a difference. Definitely keeping these toyos

Looks like the lighter 4S is what I'm going with. Thanks!

You should be able to find the Toyo in a standard load as well. They're both great. In this current market, go with availability and price. You're welcome
