Yeah, but I’m going to take care of it because I do not want to rust.

    Is the "something" still alive?

hit it with a black rattlecan, change your license plates, give it a good car wash and use different routes/different times of day for a while.

Damn man, that looks hideous. Now every time I think of you, this image will pop into my head. I can't NOT see it now. Gah. I bet CarFax lists your truck as "Salvaged Title" now.

Oddly enough I did see a dead fox on the side of the road in my neighborhood this morning. I guess it was a omen.

I would wear it as a badge of honour.

Also, when I cut my bed sides up to make room for a high clearance bumper, I just put a small guage hose cut lengthwise with some super glue to cover it. That was over 6 years ago and there is no rust. Parked outside. On salty roads. With no rear mudflaps.

Be nice. I am fully aware it’s not that big of a deal. It was enough to piss me off and chat with peeps about it. Everyone here posts about everything any way. I just wish I knew what it was hit.

With rock sliders, this wouldn't have happened. Let this be a lesson to all you slackers without rock sliders.

On a serious note; considering the debris was enough to take away some metal, give your tires a quick check over to make sure it didn't deflect into one of them. Doubtful, but better to be proactive verses coming out the next day to a deflated tire.

If it's after the front doors, cut the cab down and convert your truck in to a Regular Cab. Then extend the bed to fill in the void.

Clean it, spray paint it and send it. Great excuse to get rock sliders if that’s your jam.

In that case, all is well and its just a little scuff. First one always hurts, but on the bright side, it'll make the next ding or scratch a little easier  Plus its on the underside, so it'll never even be seen. Just hit it with some black rattle can and call it a day; brand new again.
