They have walked it. Nothing really worth getting excited over except for some optional stuff I tried with @nDub and his brother. That area was rad.

Slick Rock is a walk in the park. The new section is hard and really the only part of the trail worth doing more then once.

Ok... So I'm going to try this Youtube thing.

First real video, with a real edit program. All filmed on a cell phone. And I had really no fucking clue what I was doing when I was editing. Not a photographer. Just a dumb, redneck, old guy with a cell phone.

So, tell me if it sucks.

Ok... I'm gunna keep picking people's brains here.

If I were to roll out of Loon Lake trail head at noon on Day 1:

Is Buck Island a reachable goal for Night 1?
    Rubicon Springs for Night 2?
    Tahoma Night 3

    Then return home day 4

Has anyone made it to Upper Lola Montez yet? Gonna try and make a trip this month curious if there is still any snow on the trail.

Loon to buck has got to be almost half the trail.

Buck to Rubicon springs would be a short day although the big sluice is challenging.

Your plan is definitely how I’d like to run it.

Last time I went with my Brother and Dad and we camped near Wentworth then got up early drove to Tahoma (via hwy50) and back to camp through the Rubicon. Got back around 6pm and exhausted. We barely even stopped. It was fun but I don’t want to do it that way again.

Would there be a good place to shoot for that would even out day 1 and day 2? Spot closer to Loon Lake for night 1?

I've done the whole trail from loon to tahoma in 8 hours. So yeah it's doable. If you're going to have a bigger group I'd start earlier than noon. Most people should be able to make loon to Buck Island in a normal wheeling day.

Only reason I'm saying noon is it takes 4 dang hours to get to Loon Lake, from my house.

May need to plan on going up and camping at Loon, or that area, then start out on the trail early (actual) day 1
