For those that don’t know, that’s my cat

 

Brand new holder, must have been the last weld on a Friday.

 

Im not an expert but that looks like a cold weld...

 

That, or porosity.

 

I did a shit load of data collection for the FD - enough so to earn about 1.5M in grant money and reduce the ISO rating from a 6/10 to a 5/10
- which means nothing to y'all but it is the rating they use to determine your insurance rates on your property. It's a significant reduction!

So are you moving on to doing your own thing (I personally recommend getting a good chair) or are you going to do something different but still pay check related?

Now I'm laying out new lights for some dorm hallways.

 

Well, Monday the trailer lights quit after 16 years and I made a hodge podge repair.



A trip to TSC got me this nifty new plug with a built-in pull ring. Even came with a package of connector grease.



An hour of solder and heat shrink and everything works again, hopefully for another 16 years.

 

I got this stomper of a soldering iron probably 35 years ago at a yard sale for a quarter.

Years later I got the holder for another quarter. Neither seller knew what the items were.

 

Too crowded to get a photo at the dealership... 7km on the clock when I picked 'er up.

 

That's a dog-killer of a soldering iron!

 

Takes an hour to warm up.
Then takes an hour to cool off..
