hlx is about $104 on Amazon but just make sure it's not a fake when you get it. I think one tell tell sign is the real ones rubber o ring gaskets on the click caps are orange in color and not black.

Never look there for the mount. Arisaka is probably the most used mount with this light.

As previously mentioned was bcm some of that is laziness as I was ordering a grip from bcm so just added it to the cart.

Haley strategic is right down the street from me may pop in one day to look at other options but this works well and I kinda like it a little further off the rail as I run suppressed 99% of the time

I wouldn't even bother with an Amazon Streamlight

Your chances of getting a fake are very high

Savings don't equal headache for me

Buy from a reputable gun shop either local or well known on the web

Unless they have improved, Streamlights gave off terrible light, both in color and beam intensity. Waste of money.

I completely agree with you on justifying the price of Surefire these days now that they have competition, but there is a compromise.
If you search Scout light on Ebay...there are $30-$50 Jap-Crap versions...which are actually not crap. They are identical in every way to a real surefire except the momentary switch does not work as it should (it does not come on at all until completely depressed and click). The tape switch works 100% They take rechargeable RCR123. I have a had a couple for a few years with zero issues. It comes with a black tape over the surefire logo. They even have the fancy flip mount ones

Otherwise I would look into Olight. Their Valkerie or Baldr...are insanely bright (the brightest gun lights I have seen). I think they make some tape switch lights too, but not as glamorous looking as Surefire or Cloud

    The fakes I've seen...doubtful

They're absolutely junk that only look like the real thing...I've got a fake tlr1HL that I gave to my buddy for holster making purposes...it would switch to strobe when it felt like it...switches only worked about half the time...it got WAY hotter than my real one

You’re talking to a guy that has tried too many times the knockoff route haha.

    Buy once and cry once.

I was mostly raggin on streamlight’s decline from its glory years.

I'm just never comfortable with people taking that last pic. I mean you do you but looking down the barrel of a gun unloaded or not is not really high on my list of things to do.

Honest question, not trying to troll but how often are folks actually using their weapon lights?

I get having a light on your bump in the night gun (although I prefer a separate flashlight so I’m not pointing a gun at my wife, kids, or dog when it turns out they’re the source of the noise) but I see a lot of folks post with a light on every single gun they own.

Are folks doing a lot more night shooting than me? Or is it more of a would rather have and not need than need and not have mentality?
