Towed for the first time this morning with the YOTAWERX FI tune, and I gotta say, I knew it was gunna be good...and it is! It's crazy how strong this little v6 can feel with a blower and a really good tune. The Maggie tune was ok, but man what a difference the YOTAWERX TUNE makes!

Double axle and a little first gen, how much was that? 4-5k lbs or so?

    Looking good man!

Trailer weighs in around 1800lbs and the truck is a hair over 3klbs

    Yeah, sounds right.

When I had my Tacoma I towed my buddy's gutted rx7 project car and with the rented double axle U-Haul, it was roughly 4800-5000lbs. Didn't know if the truck weighed less or not.

Seeing this I have more confidence in my N/A trucks towing capacity. I have a small 5x10 trailer with a 3k lb axle under it. I am planning on using it to haul dirt/gravel with, looks like I can load it up with no worries. Ziggy just sent me the new tune files this morning, updating VFTuner now then flashing before a short road trip.

I did this without the blower as well, and I have a manual. I just had to stay out of 6th because it didn't have the power at 60mph in 6th. I also pull my 1st gen 4runner on 37s and tube bumpers with this same setup, still pulls ok. Trailer brakes are a must at these weights.

Pre-YW, although idk if there should be much change there due to gearing of 6th.

When I towed that rx7 for my buddy, I did it in 5th and this was back on a very early version of my old Coyoza MT tune.

Good to know,I rarely use 6th anyway. Most of my driving is in town and when I hit the highway it is a lot up,down and twisty roads. I am generaly in 5th or even 4th some times trying to keep it in the powerband between 2-3k rpm. My truck seems to like that range and gives me a consistent 18-20mpg in that rpm/load range, hills suck that down pretty quick though.

With the supercharger, and driving 60mph in 6th it will maintain even up hills. Although I live in south Georgia so the hills aren't all that big. Lol

The YOTAWERX tune really wakes up the throttle response and power below 2k rpm. It's so good.

Flashed and idling, back in a few hours. BTW our trucks look very similar. I have added a sport hood and pro grill since this pic.

Can you give me a ballpark price on the cost you have into the S/C. I'm seriously considering getting one. Love the YotaWerx tune but I always want more power.

I paid $6500 for the kit shipped from URD. Did all the labor myself. Bought a couple tools to help, but nothing crazy expensive, had everything else. Did the install on a Saturday, started at 9am by myself, test drove it at 10pm that night. Only need help torquing the crank bolt (someone to hold the pulley) and holding the s\c itself into place while I got the hardware started. Plus the YOTAWERX tune which was 500 since I bought it on launch day... Soooooooo...7k give or take a couple bucks

Ok thanks! That's not too bad for the power gain!

I just got back from a short 35 mile round trip test drive and all I can say is WOW. YotaWerx knocked this out of the park. A little background first, I am one of the OG M/T tune guys with the purple dongle. I was involved in testing and data logging for Matt when he was first developing the tune for the M/T crowd.
I have run just about every premium fuel tune he put out before switching to the VFTune platform with I believe 2.0 and the dedicated dump tube files. I then acquired a tune from another member here that I was very happy with for a couple years as I waited on Matt to release the "Ultmate Tune" still waiting but probably wont switch when or "IF" he ever releases it .

Life got busy and I took a break from TW until this past fall when I checked in to see if there was any progress with OVTune. I started reading reviews on Ziggy's "Yotawerx" file and reached out to him only to find out that it was on hold as they developed this new tune with no eta. It was at this point I also stumbled across the KDMax tune. I figured what the hell it was only money and gave it a try while waiting on the YotaWerx tune. Ziggy hooked me up a couple weeks ago with a test file to try and I was very impressed and today he sent me the finished product.

While the KDMax tune is a good tune and levels above anything that Matt produced IMHO, the YotoWorx tune outshines them both by a very fair margin.

The YotaWerx tune resolves every issue I ever had with any of the previous tunes from dead spots in the throttle, rev hang, defco ect. The throttle is quick and responsive with no "dead spots" in just off of idle like many previous tunes. Rev matching is almost effortless and very smooth just the little "blips" as I like to call them are right on point, when you hit the pedal you get exactly what you are expecting.

As for power, this is also the most impressive tune in regards to power,it is there from right off of idle all they way to the 7.2K+- limiter. I have had an informal seat of the pants benchmark test for all these tunes that consists of a steady gradual pull all the way to the rev limiter in 2nd gear. I get it going and shift to 2nd gear and apply throttle gradually up to the rev limit and check my top speed. OVTunes best was 65mph KDMax gave me 70mph and YotaWerx had me hitting 80mph @6800 rpm before I backed out of it so as not to get a speeding ticket lol.

My truck weighs in at approx 5600# with a full tank of gas plus winch, sliders, rear bumper, recovery and zombie apocalypse survival gear. It is running on 265/75/16 10 ply tires with the speedo calibration module verified by GPS +-2mph. Even fat boy feels like a sports car in comparison to the stock tune and it's more fun to drive than ever. Thanks again Marc and crew for the fantastic work you have done on this tune.

ETA FWIW my truck is not supercharged,I can't imaging what the supercharged guys are getting.

Just got back from a 660mi run to the mountains and back running the YW Stryker FI tune. My truck was HEAVY for this trip, and I averaged 16mpg combined. Climbing all GA mountain hills at 70mph in 5th (AT) at 1900RPM was a breeze! Loving this tune!

Milestone #1 achieved!! I flashed the later TSB today. With all the stories of issues updating the ecu’s, I was a little nervous but it went pretty smooth. Tomorrow the SC install starts and hopefully Stryker + will be flashed before the end of the week. :fingerscrossed:

    Great news.

Issues are very rare in general. Sometimes process related, sometimes just bad luck.
