Vinyl siding is easy. Getting it started so that you start level, match up your corners, make sure you aren’t nailing too tight and having enough overlap for the shrinkage and expansion with weather are just a few things you would need to be mindful of.

Do I need vented or solid soffit? I live in Missouri, so the Midwest. Hot and humid in the summer, snowy and cold in the winter. Only thing I keep finding is if you have narrow eaves or large ones you'd want one or the other. I have narrow eaves. I have a front porch too that if I'm doing all the rest of the soffit, I may as well do it too?
All my fascia and soffit is spongy so.

All my soffits look like they are just made of plywood/osb. I do have one of those spinning vents up top, but that may be connected to sewer vent. I've been in my attic a total of once since I bought the house, and that was just me poking my head in there while the internet guy ran my cable. Sorry I'm not much help.

if you have an attic space you likely have a vented attic / vented roof system , are there gable vents ?

No gables. My roof slopes on all sides.

Here's a shot of the back wall to see what I'm working with siding wise. Ignore the trim, it's since been painted. It's also a good shot of what I have soffit wise.

the ridge vents will be an exhaust , in order for a vented roof assembly to work effectively there should be a roughly balanced amount of intake area (soffit or gable vents typically) to exhaust area to create a convective flow of air

:bananadead: Well as you can see in my above photo, its all solid painted osb. I'll double check the ends of the house to see if they are different.

Well Mother Nature decided to wash our floors at the office this week. Luckily everything is concrete so I made quick work of it with a shop vac and mops. I own a commercial printing company so untamed water really isn’t a welcome addition to the inventory

I figured it was going to be bad so I drove the taco and was able to get out and about in the flooded town and grab some cool “sand bags” that expand when they get wet (giggity?)

At that time when the rust was bad, the filter was brown within a week. The clear filter housing was filled with brown water that I couldn't see the filter. The home owner decided it wasn't worth the money for a high dollar water filtration system because the rust was so bad that it will be expensive replacing filters, resin, whatever these type of filtration these system uses.

Today the water is clear, but it took over a year to replace all water line in the streets. The city uses steel pipe for water so rust is a common issue. The city flush the hydrants ever Spring and Fall to remove any rust.

If your friend is on city water, he needs a carbon block filter. That's what I used when I had city water. Helps reduce the chlorine taste to it as well. I would still get intermittent water spotting washing vehicles. Don't have to worry about that anymore. The well has a softener system and the cistern has a really good sediment filter on it. Haven't gotten spotting since, just plain ol' rain water. Haven't tried the well water for washing yet, but with that lack of rain it looks like that'll be happening soon...

Does all this filtration system reduces water pressure?

I can smell the chlorine in his water, never mind tasting it.

Yes, pressure will drop slightly with softeners and filters. Not enough to make a difference really unless you've got other plumbing issues restricting flow.
