I use to have a VW GLI which is the turbo'd version of the jetta that was great on gas and was pretty quick but not the manliest car :notsure: ha . Also I've been a fan of the VW R32's they sound amazing, quick, and there comfortable cars as well. But like everyone else has said STI FTW!

Subaru WRX. Wife has one. It hauls. Cheaper on insurance and payment than the STi, but just as fun. :burnrubber:

BMW M Coupe. If you can find one.

An 01-02 has an S54 motor with 315 HP, 251 ft.lbs torque, normally aspirated straight 6. Car weighs just a touch under 3k lbs. (read the specs carefully because they include a driver). My gas mileage, when I commute mixed hwy/city, is 25 mpg.

GTI is really fun to drive, my friend let me drive and she got pissed when i took it on the backroads, im about 6' 200lbs and i fit in it fine, my other friend also has a 10' GTI and i fit in that one fine, hes probably an inch or two taller than me and has no problem sitting in it

mazdaspeed3's are also pretty cool, id say they compare pretty well to a GTI. i think the ms3 has a little more power but its a little smaller IMO atleast when i sat in one at the DC autoshow last year
