I looked into this but I'd like something that finished the rough look of the flooring and covers all the wires the same.. I pulled a portion of the carpet back to see what it would look like. Wasn't a fan of what I imagined the finished product would be.

For how much Toyota promotes the off-road ruggedness of the Tacoma, you would think rubber flooring would be standard. The few things I do not like about mine, no rubber flooring or vinyl seats.

    Would be interested too.

I don't enjoy vacuuming the carpet in a vehicle, I don't even like cleaning the interior, it's not fun and it's worse when it's hot out. Vinyl flooring should be standard issue on trucks.

I owned a truck with rubber flooring, it was awesome. Regular cab long box f150 fleet model. Best truck I've owned. Looked like ass.

I have owned many trucks with rubber floors and let me tell you... It looked like your underwear after Taco Tuesday with all the marks on the floor.
So, you have to vacuum your carpet boo hoo. For rubber floors, you have to use rubber dressing and believe me, anything that comes in contact with the floor will leave a mark and look like shit.
Be careful what you wish for.

I'm not worried about the flooring being a little marked up from shoes.. if I don't vaccum my truck weekly it turns into a sandbox between me and my dogs. I want something that cleans fast, doesn't hold smell.. carpet not only takes forever to get sand and dirt out of but needs to be cleaned with my Bissell like every 3 months so my truck doesn't smell like wet dog and dirty feet. The outside of my truck prob looks worse then the rubber flooring.

All of our work trucks had rubber floors, think we hosed them out maybe twice a year?? Two of my past Toyotas had rubber flooring too, really miss it since I am in the dirt damn near weekly. Carpet gets smelly over time at least under my thumb. Guess the only plus to carpet is that it adds an extra sound barrier.

Doing a bunch of work to the house recently, and here I am putting a towel over the seat, and washing my hands before I get in…never did that with my old truck. Lol! Love this new one, but it is almost too nice. Ha ha! Think I finally decided what seat cover covers to get, see that the Carhartts are now precision fit. Shouldn’t get hot in the summer and cold in the winter like pvc or leather does.

I was about to say the same. My 2008 Dodge had a vinyl liner. For a year I ran without mats and scuffed the floors to shit. Then I got mats, which constantly slid around (nothing to grip), plus sand would still get underneath and continue to scuff the floor to shit. Front driver's and pax footwell looked like a solid gray oval surrounded by a once black liner by the time I got rid of that truck.

Coworker went with the bedliner method for his jeep. That both looked and smelled like shit, since he had to keep a couple cans for the constant touching-up. Dude always showed up to work looking like he was huffing paint, because he essentially was.

Plus, the noise issue. The vinyl floor was bad, the bedlined floor was worse.

Then there is the tacoma. Put a Husky floor liner over the carpet. No solution is perfect, but that is the cleanest, least maintenance/longest lasting solution I have seen. Dirt happens. Get a vacuum.

I had a vinyl floor in my GMC Sierra and it was the best option ever. I would seriously have paid $1,000 extra for this option in the Taco!

Carpet mats over rubber flooring is the ticket. Carpet mats can be removed and shampooed and if something spills on the rubber flooring it is easy to wipe up. You don’t want to use the rubber flooring alone. The benefit is to not have a dirt trap that can’t be easily removed (like the mats). Any spill or dirt around the console and seats can be easily wiped up.

did anyone get an answer to second gen vs 3rd gen differences? I’m tempted to try it..

ACC will ship carpet and flooring cut extra long so you can trim it to fit. You just need to ask for it.

my gut tells me the fit is closer than we think. With these kits you need to cut out all the holes for the console, seats, and belts anyway.

It will fit but its far from a perfect fit.

I really with Toyota or someone would make a vinyl set. Absolute best feature I've had in all my past trucks

;) I guess to each their own. I like to keep the interior super clean and the carpet just makes it tough. I'm constantly at the beach or tracking mud/dirt into the truck. Back when I had vinyl mats I could vacuum and wipe down the floor in a couple of minutes. The carpet takes me much longer. The vinyl was a bit slicker. Neither are perfect and both have their flaws but I always felt the vinyl was way easier to keep clean
