    I am honestly not sure if I know what it is. I may have eaten some and just don't remember what it was called....

    We had an E5 in my unit at NTC (National Training Center, Ft. Irwin) that was Filipino. At least once a month, on Friday afternoon, if he wasn't too busy and got approval from our Platoon SGT, he would spend the afternoon at the base Rec center kitchen cooking up a shit load of Filipino dishes for all of us to eat for dinner at the end of the day. That was where I first learned of Balut. And hell no, I have never eaten that.............. But I did really enjoy a lot of the thing she cooked up for us.

    He was in process of trying to get into Warrant Officer Candidate school at the time I ETS'd, I never heard if he was accepted or not.

    Ok, Googled "lumpia". I still can't say for sure if my Filipion buddy made that for us or not, but I love the hell out of spring / egg rolls, so I am sure it is damn yummy stuff :D Get in my belly!:burp:
