Good morning everyone! Happy Friday! Beautiful day for a motorcycle ride here in Michigan! Mid 70s and sunny. Left the Taco home again (still has the kayak in the bed for tomorrow morning fishing).

    Welcome to the jungle Jeff!

Have the best day you can!

Happy anniversary Dewayne! The 21st of this month will be our 36th as well. First day of summer not sure which makes me remember the other. But I go with I always remember the first day of summer because it’s on our anniversary.

Sounds like a great way to spend Father's Day. My daughter is in Wisconsin and my son and his wife are heading to their property with the grandkids. I guess I'll probably be doing some more solo fishing that weekend.

The little town we live in doesn't do well with change. It's still 1973 here.
The city council voted last night to start immediately begin to turn the busiest intersection in the.city into a round-a-bout.
The closest building is the police station. At least they'll save gas going to all the wrecks....

roundabouts are all the rage here too. its not too bad except in winter when someone tries to go too fast and its icy. or the big semi and dump trucks cut the corner and drive thru the middle.
they put one up in front of our costco. put some fancy street lights in. those lights lasted about a week before they got mowed down.

my town is smallish - 15k. we have three roads that cross over the railroad tracks, other than that town is divided north and south by the tracks. the city hired a company to do a traffic survey to figure out a long term plan to help with congestion on those three roads. roundabouts they said. a roundabout leading to a railroad crossing. how the hell would that work? i could see people stacked up side by side and on the sidewalk trying to be the first to get over the tracks after the train passed. oh, and one is in the old part of town where there's street/sidewalk/building. no room to expand the road to make room for a roundabout.a in fact theres only parking on the north side of the street because its too narrow to have parking lanes on both sides.
    north side of that intersection
    upload_2022-6-10_8-55-12.jpg
south side, oh look a train!
    upload_2022-6-10_8-55-56.jpg
they would have to offset the roundabout to the south and it would end up nearly on the tracks

That's cool Steve. One of my favorite videos is where Addie is in her high chair eating supper. She is eating fine, then looks her Daddy square in the eye, picks up a bite of food, stretches out her arm and drops on the floor while he says no. Then laughs! Pappy's gonna have a blast can't wait!

I can go you all one "better".

I live in a rural county in northern California (Lake Tahoe area). There are 3 stop lights in the middle of our town (about 20ish thousand people) on highway 50, and sometimes the weekend traffic in summer or winter going to/coming home from Lake Tahoe can get mega-backed up due to these stop lights. It has been debated for over 20 years about what might be done to both alleviate this traffic congestion, while not bypassing the town and hurting local businesses. So..... last year, what do the ID10T County Planning Commissioners decide to do??

They are going to put not one, but TWO roundabouts IN THE HIGHWAY itself a few miles east of town. That way it is supposed to slow traffic just before the town's stoplights so there won't be as big a backup right at the lights.

Roundabouts in a Highway. That's a bold move, let's see how that works out.

Go glad we are moving to Kentucky in a few months.....

Sounds great, be sure to stop for some homemade ice cream. I used to camp/hunt a little north of town in the late 90s early 00s. The terrain there was a little better on my knees than it was at my previous camp/hunting grounds near Lake Wenatchee.
