Mine does it on flat ground. when the truck is warm it never does it. i thought about taking it to the dealer and see what they say about it.

If the Truck has just been started, it will be idleing high to warm itself up faster.
    Normally 1300-1500rpm.
When you put it into D for Drive, it forces the rpm's down into the 1000rpm range which could cause a jerk or lunge.

Not here and I put the truck in neutral at lights...Don't care for the low RPM trans vibration at longer lights (plus from what i have read it actually saves fuel not fighting the trasnsmisson)

Sorry to bump an old thread but I figured I'd take this route instead of starting a new one.

I experience this same thing every morning when I go from park -> drive. I always use my parking brake but it's only when I shift into drive that I feel a significant jerk. Hope everything is ok.

Seems to only happen when the truck is cold (sitting overnight). Maybe I should let it idle longer? I usually let it warm up until I get buckled it and situated -- so about 20-30 seconds.

When you shift out of park try stopping at neutral for a few seconds...then make the shift into drive. Also, when parking before going from drive to park stop at neutral, set the emergency brake, let truck seat itself by taking foot off brake pedal for a second, then shift into park. Doing it this way seems to take the load off the tranny and lessons the hard shift from park to drive on start up.

    Offroad,

I've tried letting it sit in neutral (like you mentioned) before shifting into drive but it still jerks. Pretty weird.

And that's how I go from drive to park. :D I can thank TW for that.

I've read some taco's come from the factory low on tranny fluid....might be worth checking if you haven't allready.

She needs to warm up a little longer, never stab a cold motor. Do it how you normally do and watch the rpm gauge, remember the rpms you were at when it lunged, then warm it up longer then see the rpm and remember what they were at and see if she lunges?

    Same with women
