I can only speak from my experience. I bought a used 2018 with over 40k miles, put 8k on it since I got it August and not had a single issue. If the paper work/receipts don’t match the info provided, I usually pass on.

I use windex lol it was what I was told when I learned to change a tire. It's slippery when wet but evaporates without leaving a film. Biggest downside is you have to keep applying it if it takes you a while.

Lol. I want best bang for my buck. Ordered BullSnot, but will cancel now.

Ordered some spoons and my neighbor had the motion pro bead pro and rim protector already. So ill use that and a 5 gallon bucket. Going to try without having tubes, so if i pinch one, ill be stuck at home waiting for a shipment.

They were able to explain, step by step, what they did with the bike and my mechanic said it checked out.

Focusing on the positive, the PO texted me last night, asking for details, so maybe he will help out...

Thanks and, while I enjoy wrenching, I don't have the capability, desire, or energy to get into it that deeply. Maybe if I had a more dedicated work space and a mentor...

I found the bucket method did not allow for much leverage and that putting the wheel on a folded up towel on top of my thin foam "gym floor" pad allows me to use my knees for leverage as needed and provides plenty of "cushion" for the rotors....

THis, I did my tubes without a bead buddy and it helped to be able to put my knee on part of the tire as I was working the spoons around.

Doc Samson Motorcycle Debacle Log Entry #17 -

Some really good news! The PO seemed genuinely concerned about the engine! Enough so that he refunded $2500! Now, I had entertained the fantasy that he'd cover all of it but, given how he could have responded, I'm pretty... well, happy isn't quite right, but I'm much less distraught!

So, I've listed the bike for $2200 with a full description of what I know so far. Does that sound like a fair price to you all? The rest of the bike is truly in excellent condition...

760 miles in just over 12 hours so I could get to Woodstock, GA for a celebration of life tomorrow. FJR owner and friend. Roughly 30 of us coming from all over including 2 flying in from CA.

I would normally agree but if The rest of the bike is truly in excellent condition... it might be worth keeping. But also understand if he just wants to wash his hands of the whole situation.

11 years ago whoa. My 2nd bike, F4i.

I think the middle one was a F3, and the last one is a R1.

Maybe if I had someone more skilled/knowledgeable to help me. But also realized that, sexy as a SSS is, maintenance requires a whole 'nother set of tools.

Oh, heck yeah! If I can get out from under this with any $$$ left, I'll be a much less disgruntled camper!
