I used to live near it and they would sometimes fly out over my neighborhood. Never went to the show, though. But I did work at Boeing while I was there and my office window faced toward the airport, so I got to see the F-15s and F-18s as they did their test flights.

KVBT is kinda like the Wall Drug of FBOs. Worth the stop if you're in the area. For such a small airport, it has many millions of dollars worth of planes actively flying, plus the GameBird factory on site. Add in employees actually act like they are happy you are there and will do just about anything you ask of them.

    Lotsa going on with that.

I thought the scale was kinda wonky and realized those aren’t radial engines….they look too tiny for that size craft.

I did a little research ... it is a .... JUNKERS G -38 "Flying Wing" .... and it was flown by Lufthansa starting in early 1930's .... most by rich or well connected Germans.

Check the side photos too ... this thing had BIG windows everywhere ... :)

It was a very big and sophisticated plane for that time.

Haha, you'd be alright probably. We were only armed with training ammo which is boring and doesn't explode.

From the days of designing off paper and trusting the math. Testing things in computer simulations and designing for maximum efficiency is boring.
