That's how I've always done it. Head up after work the night before. Camp at the trailhead. Get up and start wheeling.

That would make the first day of wheeling more enjoyable. Plus Buck is a very popular spot to camp. Lots of places to camp but weekends it could be a gamble. So by getting up and leaving in the morning from Loon you at least have a head start. Of course mid week is a lot more mellow.

Nice thing about doing Buck to the springs is it’s a really cool spot to hang out. So if you get there at lunch you’ll have all day to dink around and relax.

You could do Rubicon springs to the trailhead by lunch, then it’s an easy drive home. Unless you’re broken, then it’s a fun drive home!

Hmm, been thinking lately of hitting that trail again. It's been almost 30 years since I've done it and I remember there was definitely some weirdness going on at the reservoir back then. At the shore, there were these aluminum boats chained up with giant chains running through holes cut in the bottoms of the boats, and the area was littered with empty tubes of silicone sealant.

I’ve definitely seen that. I guess TriDam doesn’t like boats?

So... Just got back from a 4x4 In Motion meeting (not a member, but we are considering it). They are putting on a Poker Run at Niagara Rim Trail July 15th - 17th. Supposedly it's a bunch of fun.

I have never been on a Poker Run, don't exactly know what in the fuck a Poker Run is. But we're gunna go. Supposedly there will be copious amounts of fun, shenanigans, and overall fuckery.

The Poker runs are fun. They put one on at Hollister once. At the end, they used one of those poker machines and the best hand won. I got $50. Second place.

We did one at a motorcycle rally one time. Rode like banshees all over the quincy area and were the first group back...they tried to say we made it back after the cut off--which was true but then no one else made it back either. We prevailed and ended up winning. It was memorable for sure.

We did loon to little sluice, little sluice to buck, and buck to the end. The first time I did it, I did loon to buck and buck to the end. Loon to buck is a long day when you don’t know the lines.

Also, if you get to loon with some day light, I’d suggest wheeling through the gate keeper and pushing to the first green bridge (maybe take about an 1.5/2 hours) there a good area to the left to camp by the creek and a bathroom.) will be helpful if you plan to go to buck island the first full day.

This is known as the Elis Creek Bridge. There is a pit toilet at this location after the bridge.

    Ok... Shameless plug now.

Edited my second video. Practicing using footage from a trip last year. The footage wasn't that excellent because we weren't really filming particularly to make a video. And didn't really know the video setting etc. (Still don't lol)

But I think it's a really cool song though... so there's that :notsure:

Ive been debating on taking my Sequoia through the Rubicon, if we had a group I'd be in to go!

Speaking of the Rubicon, here's an edit I put together of the footage we got from this last week. Footage all the way from loon lake to the tahoma side.

Don't judge me for the clickbait thumbnail :luvya:

What are the specs on the silver IFS rig? I heard him mention crawl box, but what else as far as suspension, lockers, and tires are 33s?

I had absolutely ZERO wheeling, camping, or fuckery go on this weekend.

    It was tragic.

But I got some shit done on the truck, for the next round of wheeling camping and fuckery.
