2023 is basically the same for both trucks.

In terms of the Tundra, I assume that the 2023 model will include a bunch recall work baked in?

Here is just a little news. Yesterday stopped by my local dealer chatting with my salesman I deal with a lot. Bought numerous Pro’s from them. My 21 LunaRock Pro is not going anywhere except sitting in my garage. After talking with him he said they cannot even get any Pro’s and not sure what is going on. They have one LunaRock tundra Pro 22 that will be coming in. No thank you with msrp about 70,000 plus there will be a 4000 dollar mark up. That’s about 20,000 more than I paid for my new one. Plus he said they already have a new tundra pro in and the turbo needs to be replaced. So I will be keeping my Pro and enjoying not having any car payments.

My buddy owned both. He couldn't stand the tundra... but he was finished hauling dirt bikes and trailers... he wasn't utilizing the size or the V8.

If you need the room/power or are doing hauling =Tundra
If you have to daily this thing as a grocery getter/commuter utility vehicle =Taco

I have a Taco and 2 kids and the backseat already feels small after a year. I hear Sienna's calling my name

    2005-2006 Tundra Double Cab.

Perfect size truck, huge back seats, 3 grown men in construction get up fit very comfortably for long drives, 6.5’ bed, literally the perfect sized Toyota truck. Get a real cab and a real bed all in a truck that takes up less space in your garage.

General fuel economy, the fact he wasn't hauling.... he LIKED the Tundra... the thing got up and went in a hurry.... he just had it with the beast when he came to visit me at the shore.. it took him an hour to find a parking spot cuz the thing is so damn big...

So like I said for him... he wasn't utilizing the truck for what it was meant for... he wound up hating it ... which is why he went back to a Tacoma.

For a daily driver that doesnt haul something large regularly.... it's just the more practical rig

Yep. My other buddy has both a gen 1 Tundra and a new one (which he also hates due to the size). The gen 1 Tundra is similar in size to the gen 3 Taco.... go figure.... here in the land of bigger is better..... how big is too big...

My 3rd gen taco almost feels too big at times compared to my first gen (I hate the blind spots and the enormous front end). Its gonna take me 15 years to get used to.

From what I gather the rear seating between a DC Tacoma and the DC Tundra (to us, access cab) is pretty well the exact same amount of space for an average sized driver in the front. Crew cab is definitely spacious.

My two boys grew out of the 06 PreRunner really quickly. I switched over to a full sized GMC Sierra
Two boys now gone in college, I switched back to a Tacoma. Got a Pro this time.

    good luck in todays market.

Somewhat pertinent: it now officially looks like the 2023 4-Runner is not going to be the Gen 6.

Think this means that the Gen 4 Taco and Gen 6 'Runner will come out together in '24?

IDK 6th gen might get canceled, new Sequoia might be gone in five years, and the new Tundra may be done in less than ten years. The Tacoma could be the largest truck in Toyota's line up, and wh really needs an SUV larger than a Rav4?

I've read on thread on here from someone who is in the industry and says the 4 th gen taco is definitely next year...take it as a grain of salt. But if you follow TFL o you tube they recently saw the new Tacos testing off road in Colorado
