Good ride around Lake Hodges, Schwinns are getting worn out though. It May or may not have been a mistake to go mid-day, but oh well. Also, #beginnerbikegang

I really like the seafoam lettering, that looks really good! The black/gray is clean, but I really like that pop of color!

Classic case of the "grass being greener...".
My Nephew just bought that same bike, in that same color (cast battleship grey?).
Man, I had bike envy. Haha, but, with the bike shortage, I took what was available.

Today it wasn't more than like 5 minutes I'd say, but I have had to wait up to around 20 min or so when it's busiest

It’s an adult purple drank. Lol! If you like porters, gotta give these a try before they’re gone. It’s supposedly a limited run.

Yeah, one of those fast, desert corners that started off bermed, then quickly goes off camber. Not a big deal on the East Coast, specially with Magic Mary's up front, but in the desert, you're down before you even know it.

Got on a demo Trail 429 today. I rode the enduro version with a 140mm 36/Dpx2 in absolute shite conditions as per usual. We rode a combo of fast techy singletrack, and flow trails with mid size jumps. The bike had a firmer supportive feeling overall that didn't ever really ever feel too overwhelmed even on bigger hits. It did start kicking back a bit over repeat fast chunk which had me questioning what it would do in dry conditions at higher speeds. The geo says "send it" but it's only 120mm rear after all. It's one of those bikes where if you're light on your toes the responsiveness is very rewarding, and it has the handling to pick any line you want. It's not something that you can be lazy and heel drag/plow on without consequence. I did definitely notice the slacker seat tube angle(74.5) felt a bit stretched while climbing compared to what I've been riding lately. The DW linkage pedals absolutely amazing otherwise. It had plenty of pop, felt surprisingly composed over jumps, and was an absolute rocket through corners. This would be a great bike if you have smoother pedally trails with some jumps and optional hits involved, and want a sporty climber. I think the turn offs for me would be the seat tube angle, and the price which was something like $6999 for the one I rode. Otherwise it was a damn fun lil shredder.

Insane, I was reading a PB article that mentioned 45 minutes and I was thinking to myself. I’ll probably never pay to go to a bike park lol.

Now I want to try Sugar Mtn or any of them around Boone, NC. Those are the closest ski lift parks for me.

I actually demoed the exact same bike this past Friday! Agree with everything about your review, especially feeling stretched out while climbing. I don’t think I’d ever buy one myself as I don’t see a place for it between my big bike and my hardtail, but it’d be perfect for a lot of riders out there.

I also can’t get over how expensive pivots are! They seem to be a few hundred more than even the other high end brands, and thousands more than most brands.
