I've done a mod or two
Around here it's made people stop driving big diesel trucks too. I have no complaints, easily more obnoxious than straight piped Hondas and Subarus.

Combine that with no COVID restrictions and there are a lot more open campsites in the mountains on the weekends :woot:.

LT crew, I need some advice.

I had to take the truck on a bunch of errands yesterday in the 100 degree weather and the AC was struggling BAD. It didn’t seem to matter that it was on recirc, and I wasn’t expecting to be frozen out of the cab or anything, but it definitely wasn’t as cool as it has been previously.

What’s the best move from here? I’m guessing I should probably do some due diligence and see if it’s not leaking, but I’m also drowning in life shit and projects and work and blah blah blah and I’m feeling the pull to just be lazy.

Help me, LT bois, you’re my only hope.

    Thanks!

I'm a stranger to AC, so I hope someone chimes in to help.

It was 105 yesterday and 102 the day before.

We drive the LC when we're together cause the AC cools much faster than her GMC.

Have you tried the basic recharge can yet? Some of them have a sealer in them that will fix any minor leaks. It worked on my 97 but then again it doesn't get hotter than 85° up here ever.

Have you checked the high/low pressures? If it used to work it's probably low on freon

The orings seem to leak a little bit during winter

I'm gonna try and get the front of the crawler put together this afternoon. I need to put the pass side of the axle together, reinstall the hydro assist, bleed the brakes, and fill it with oil and then I should be good. Tempted to drop and reseal the oil pan but I can probably wait on that a bit.

Shit. Should be a frown cause he ain’t worth what he used to be!

I had a brand new Dodge diesel and it was $4.50 a gallon which is prob comparable to $6 now. The real estate market tanked and I couldn’t afford to even drive the truck.

Had that truck for less than a year, put 20k cash down on it and barely got out of the remaining payment to dump it. 2009 fucking sucked. But, got my first Toyota after. 3rd gen 4Runner!

No worries! Hope you guys stay cool out there.

Thanks! That’s where I’m leaning for starters.

I never had an issue before this season, so I’m hoping the seals are all still good…
