2.7 appreciation thread

2019 SR 2.7 L/164 AC/AT Utility. All stock and haven't turned 1,000mi yet.

 

I was at a brewery in line outside to buy some cans today. I heard the familiar sound of my truck starting, which surprised me because I didn't drive.

I turned around and it was a Toyota forklift. It's not the same engine, but goddam does it sound like it.

Brought a smile to my face.

 

idk how much you drive but i'm at 255k in my 16 sr5 4x4 access cab. i pulled a decent sized u-haul trailer from Arizona to Tennessee a while back. not the best mileage but it wasn't a horrible experience. i pull a small boat and trailer all the time, not really noticeable.

Hey y'all.

For the 2.7L 2wd owners, is that rear axle/3rd member an 8" or 7.5"?

ECGS shows all 2.7L 2wd to present as 7.5". Gonna throw in a TrueTrac and wanna confirm before ordering.

Which also begs the question...anyone swap to an 8" or 8.75"?

 

what year? If it’s a 2016+ if it’s a manual it has the 8.75”. If it’s an automatic it has the 8”. There’s a bunch of 8” axles Toyota uses and the market has code named them to differentiate them so pick the right one.
