After reading a lot of really happy customer reviews. I guess lite PRO XT is the best for stock and not heavily armored Tacos. I might hit up @TacoManOne for an upgrade after I get my wheels and tires +1” upsized…

Thank you Wahoobie for my Pro xt tune. The truck has always run great on every tune and always an improvement. This new tune is the best so far. I lifted on 5100s, 265/70/17 Toyo at sl rated on 4runner pro wheels, nothing heavy, TRD cAI and Pro exhaust and always running about 19 around town. The increase in little more power down low is very noticable and the CAI is now even more louder than before. I have always loved the sound when hitting the gas hard but on this new tune its a lot more aggressive sounding. Loving the new tune!

AFTER 1000 miles here we go for Pro+ XT review.

    1. Still perfect Lambda at any@ RPM's. (Fuel and Air mixture is perfect, meaning it won't blow up your engine) ( i will always review this part specially I'm a certified master technician)
    2. Shifting was smooth ( I feel the smoothness of the pro tune)
    3. Shift points were great ( Holds a little longer on gears like the Pro+)
    4. Torque was perfect ( now you can overtake on cars and the truck don't even have to downshift ) ( screaming was eliminated because of this )
    5. Gas mileage was pretty good at 19 mpg tops (i still got the best from the pro tune at 20+mpg)
    6. Engine was pretty relaxed running at 100+ mph

I traded my truck yesterday because I always wanted a manual. So I will review the tunes for the manual soon.

    Thank sir @PapaRee and @TWTaco

    Oh man…
Another thing I’ll add, being a MT owner, the tune makes using reverse a breeze! Especially on a heavy truck. And that’s saying a lot!

If it was running that good, maybe you could have used S Mode, but that doesn't give the joy of using the clutch. I have the same desire. I've had manuals, and they are fun to drive. I would sure like for someone to compare stock 0-60 speeds to Pro + XT 0-60 times. I would expect close to 2 seconds faster.

It would be cool to see those numbers. Seems like 2 seconds would not be likely, though. That's a ton of improvement and would require a ton of increased power. Most probably way more than we'd ever see from a tune, regardless of how good it is.

I've been wondering that as well, but I suspect the difference is small and how it feels isn't really a good measure for actual performance. I found this list of 0-60 times and they range from about 7.1 to 7.9 sec with a few outliers for different models. Maybe call it an average of 7.5 sec. I found 2 videos with times on a tuned tacoma. They got 7.33 sec and 6.68 sec. Neither was KDMax, but looks like maybe about a 1/2 second average improvement. Would need to take multiple samples to get a better idea.

My stock tune didn't seem that fast with the throttle lag that I had. But I suppose when you are brake torqueing that would eliminate most of that. But from a no throttle start, the KD Max tune has to be much quicker.

That second video you posted is my truck.
All my mods and the progression of the tune can be seen on that channel.
I have seen as quick as a 6.40 on a real cold day on 93 and on E85 5.78 on a similar cold day.
Temperature and weather play a big factor in 0-60 times but on average my truck runs
    5.80-6.20 on e85
    6.40-6.70 on 93
    7.0-7.30 on 87
Take the tune off and it slows up a lot.
I would love to see performance numbers from another tuner. I even have a dragy they can borrow if they are local to me.

My experience with KDMAX in the best analogy I can relate: I’ve always felt that driving my pickup, from the factory, was like running in loose sand on the beach with a parachute on. I was with OV Tune since 2017, and a few iterations of KDMAX. Each time, the parachute got smaller, and the sand got firmer. With Pro+, the parachute was off, and the sand was the hardpack near the water. I’m on XT+ now, and it’s like I’m off the beach, and on a track. Don’t get me wrong, not saying it’s comparable to an LS swap or getting supercharged, like I suddenly have Carl Lewis’ legs. I’m saying there’s nothing holding it back from its potential. My pickup, with sliders, steel bumpers + winch, full skids, and reasonably heavy 33s feels effortless from a stop. I love the tip in with normal option on the XT+. Normal Pro+ was a bit too aggressive for me, I always feared breaking something. But normal XT+ is awesome, just aggressive enough without fear of tranny soup on the pavement. I should also add, since upgrading to XT+, this is the first time in years I've fed my pickup 87 octane (gas price related), and it still feels better than other tunes on 91. Thanks for a great tune!

Oops, forgot - customer service direct from the Papa is first rate! Always super responsive. Good customer service is all but extinct any more.

Thanks @wahoobie for the tune today! I’m not sure why I waited until 135k was on the clock to get this done, but it feels good to steamroll hills without downshifting. Normal throttle setting made it perfect.

Thanks to @Naonak, Josh, for meeting with me this morning to switch my tune from Pro + Normal, which is very good, to Pro + XT Lite. On the 40 mile trip home I got 25.0 mpg. If that continues, I promise that I will like this tune a lot. I will update later, but also want to thank @PapaRee for all his time and effort to improve an already very good tune.
