I was at STAPLES today shopping for a new Laptop. I have always bought HP Laptop's but I was looking at an ASUS. One of the Employees at STAPLES said that HP and ASUS are comparable. The ASUS Laptop I am looking at is a new Model and doesn't have any reviews yet is an issue I am having. Any body here ever owned an ASUS Laptop? What are you thoughts? Thank You for any in reviews you can give me. Jim.

Asus is a great brand generally speaking, hard to give a good opinion without details on what your expectations and use case is or what the computers specs are but generally speaking Asus is top teir, and hands down a million times better than an HP if only for less bloat tracking and proprietary B.S.

I'm running an Asus MoBo in my rig.

    (ROG MAXIMUS XI Formula)

And have had other good experiences with Asus in the past.

A friend has bought 2 Asus laptops, the first one is decent, the second one has a fan that seems to be rubbing on something so he sent it back

I'll take a business line dell, hp or lenovo over an Asus tho.

We have had two very different experiences.

You couldn't pay me to have a Dell (or Alienware as they're just "gaming" Dells) or an HP.

Eh I daily HP elite books and a x360 spectre at work, they work fine. I like old my old Dell latitude until the battery puffed, not sure how their new stuff stacks up.

Picked up a lenovo l13 for myself a month or so ago, loving it, although I've always had a soft spot for thinkpads

If you just want to surf the internet, you could check out Google Chromebooks.

I ended up buying the ASUS and so far I am impressed. For sure it beats all the HP's I have ever owned.

i have one asus laptop, which I bought to write with. I cannot remember the model as it has been quite some time since I bought it, but I’ve never had a problem with it.
Last year my 11 year old asus desktop died and I needed a replacement. I ended up going to Microcenter and buying all the stuff to build one. Motherboard, memory, graphics card(ouch!), case, case fans and aio cooler are asus. It rocks.
