What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Nice. When we went we took my wife's car that didn't have 4 wheel drive. I didn't do enough research to know you could drive on the beach in areas. Also didn't have my Taco yet. I told her today we need to go back and take the truck. I grew up in Charleston that has a few beaches but you can't drive on any of them. Looks like you had a great trip.

 

That updated left side panel looks great. Also glad to see you finally got around to swapping out those tailgate letters. I likie.

 

Put in a platform for the pups and wired in the tailgate power lock.

Yeah. It's the Rigid 30" SAE light bar and the bumper is the CBI covert.

Put a hole thru my kicker running new 16 gauge wires for my new Alpine amp and LC7i converter. Spent the last 2 days wiring all the doors with 16 gauge for the alpine. Still have to run the wires for the LC7i . Everything else pretty much wired.

 

Scored a ARE Z Series topper on the Facebook only 1 hour away. I think I like the two tone

 

and AGM tune flashed today nice to see the extra volts

 

Gave the Tacoma a nice wash with Adams mega foam soap and then waxed with Chemical Guys hybrid ceramic. Turned out pretty good.

 

Change the oil today, cabin air filter, service the battery terminals and did maintenance charge, empty the oil catch can.
Gave him quick wash, make interior clean. Routine things I enjoy to do.

 

I too did give my taco a wash and quick inside detail . Thanks for reminding me I too also need to empty my oil catch can

 

Is it hard to install the tailgate power lock ?

 

Unexciting but productive weekend:

• Manual trans fluid (Motorcraft)
• Rear axle fluid (85w-140 conventional)
• Oil & filter change (Super-Tech and Toyota)
• Debadged door “TACOMA” emblems (didn’t like the chrome and didn’t want black)
• 2-low harness & switch install

 

Trd skid plate, with talons catalytic protector plate.

 

How did you get those readout on the stereo?

 

The tailgate power lock is a pretty easy install. I’d say the hardest part was getting the included grommet to seat nicely in the hole under the passenger front seat. You can use some soapy water to ease it in. I just used force lol.

 

No, its pretty simple. The hardest part is getting the new 2 loom clamp to close which isnt really much of anything.

Just took a look and it seems like this video covers everything.

 

I found the routing of the wire along the bottom to be tedious, but not mentally difficult. The metal clips were just annoying
