    Does anything like this exist?
I HATE the stupid factory exhaust how it hangs down past the cross bar.

Would be cool if there is a bolt on replacement for that specific section

Or is simply taking it to an exhaust shop the better option?

I think your best bet is just to find a local exhaust shop which can do the mod for you in probably less than an hour. Eventually I'm going to have my local exhaust shop mod mine (since I have no way to bend tube and hate welding it).

Anyone who is on the OC area, Plaza Muffler in the City of Orange does good work at a fair price. I've not had them mod the exhaust on my Taco (yet) but they did build a custom exhaust system for one of my VW's about a year ago and did good work.

Exhaust is welded, there's not really a bolt on solution for it. There could be but it would be far more intrusive than a cut and weld method.

He's right you know... Your Best bet is to chop it. Its as easy as:
    1. Cut the pipe behind the muffler (as straight as possible) leaving 6" of pipe.
    2. Buy a turn-down "tip" from an autoparts store so that it slips over your new stub. (see above)
    3. Cut 2 notches into the flared part of your tip (parallel to the pipe, 180* apart from each other)
    4. Using an exhaust band clamp, clamp your tip to the stub. The notches will allow the tip to deform and grab the stub.

    No welding, low cost.

Unless you're talking about further up towards the trans / transfer case - Then that's a lot more work.

I thought the OP explained it pretty decent but he's not referring to that part of the exhaust "you know". I believe he's referring to the low hanging portion of the exhaust underneath the transfer case.

Money would be better spent on a skid setup to protect rather than re-routing if the concern is off-road durability.
