Ah... gotcha. I thought maybe you just read too fast. I know I've been guilty of doing it.

I wouldn't say anyone is confused with the how, more so the why. Disassembling a CV to remove it when it can be done much easier is hilarious.

Mahalos for the responses, some are of interesting reading. I was able to free the cv axle with a cold chisel and 4 lb short handle sledge hammer. Getting the ECGS bushing in was a bitch with the little working room. Now trying to get the axle in. Found a tip to use a little grease to set the c-clip from sagging. I guess little wheel bearing grease won't hurt.

Well, I'm an idiot because I'm still confused with the how. How exactly is this magical small screwdriver being utilized? As a pry tool?

Remember to remove the puller tool before you try to reinstall the CV. It looks like it is still in your second pic.

Yeah. A bit of any grease to keep the open part of the clip on the bottom is fine.

I had a bitch of a time getting my CV out as well. What finally worked was a big sledge hammer with some metal cabling looped around the CV and other end on the hammer.
