Yes. You would need to buy a Software Only License to flash up more vehicles that you own if you are not a Pro Tuner.

That might even be the easiest route to get your friend flashed up since you already know the dance.

Updated from 1.4 to 1.6.3 today and after install Windows 10 Security reacted with a quarantine & delete of the VFTuner.exe file. After some Windows Security adjustments, uninstall, fresh install (tried a fresh installer download, too) it still will not launch. No error message or anything, just a brief spinning wheel after clicking and then nothing. Controlled folder access is allowed, I tried Windows security settings off, no joy. Cable connected, or not, same. Drivers installed. I used this on the same machine previously without issue. I sent off a zendesk email but that will probably take a couple days.

 

Double check the MS security settings. Everything must be off. I found one of the firewall settings had turned back on (notifications) after turned off - seems like some turn back on after you turn another off. Most likely MS and not VFT or drivers. Turn all MS Security off before you attempt download or update or flash.

 

It doesn't say anything in the installation instructions about turning stuff completely off, or even disabling specific security settings/features, but I'll give that a try.

 

It doesn’t say it, but you have to turn it all off. I am running Windows 11, and the Macafee, or however it’s spelled, kept kicking it to quarantine. For most, it’s only a temporary disable, and will automatically turn back on after a time. You can select how long, for me was 15, 30, 60 or manually. Got a warning about the manual. But each time you run VFTUNER you will need to disable prior to running it.

 

I get it for 3rd party AV software but the native Windows Security should be something that they can program for.

 

Hello there. I'm interested on getting the Vf tuner tuning kit and KDmax tune files and was wondering if I can use it with my Surface Go with Windows 10? I also have a Surface PRO with Windows 10, but the battery doesn't hold a good charge anymore. TIA

 

Any Windows machine except those with an ARM processor will work just fine.

It should be fine. I just got the 2 cuz it was the newest one. VF doesn’t require much just to flash

@tonered I’m looking to installing vFtuner on my laptop but I’m going to get a new laptop with windows 11bsikce my old laptop is outdated. Will I still be able to download vFtuner on my new laptop? After reading the install directions on the vFtuner website it says windows 8,9 & 10 only.

 

Windows 11 works fine, I had no issues.

 

I have been running Win 11 Beta with no issues. Boot time for the vF Software is slow, but that is no big deal and was like that on Win 10 also. It varies from computer to computer.
