Has anyone made or thought of making a intake tube? A smooth bore from air box to throttle body. Not sure what size printer it would take?

First version of some HVAC knobs I designed and printed. The different colours are separate prints glued together. The next version will be a single print, if I ever get around to printing them.

Not exactly relevant to tacomas but I started printing a cyclone for my dust collector. First really big substantial part is really cool, its about 12" in diameter.

TFW that thread you forgot you started takes on a life of its own! :kona:

The pandemic and work-from-home situation pretty much killed my access to a 3D printer, but maybe I can get back to that now. Well done, all!

I ran my external antenna below the carpet and to the glovebox. The wire sits in the glovebox when the radio isn't in the truck.
The antenna is a magnet mount and can be stored behind the rear seat.

Here is a cupholder I made for a 4 runner. Originally only had one space but after I 3d scanned the original I mirrored it to get the extra cupholder.

Started prototyping a switch panel to fit into where the cupholder inserts go. Plan is to fit two sets of three toggle switches.

edit did a bit more work but im awaiting for some parts to arrive to verify guesstimated dimensions render 0003.jpg render 0004.jpg render 0001.jpg

Shift knob base for a third gen knob on a 2nd gen truck. Still have to sand and finish it.

Hi Everyone, I designed these cup holder inserts for the 2nd gen tacomas. There's 4 different models available: 2 Yeti, Hydroflask_Left, Hydroflask_Right, & 2 Hydroflask. Nalgenes fit too, just very snug.

Pictures, part models, and print settings can be found here:
    https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5411244

Or if, you don't have a printer, I'm willing to send you an insert for free. Yes, FREE. Just send me a PM.

If you have questions, feel free to ask.

    Thanks,
    Kyle

I just got one of Kyle’s inserts. It’s great! Fits nalgenes well and it sits nicely in the space in the truck. Highly recommend.

Are you using bondo to cover the 3D print material?

I printed a magnetic phone mount.
I used a vent mount and took it apart. I screwed the magnet into the 3D printed part.

Hooks are for the charging cord.

No, I use a resin printer. Printed the cupholder in two pieces and set it in the console to get the positioning perfect, then used the same resin and a handheld uv light to harden it. Essentially glued it together with resin. Then sand down the contours and primed it.

Looked like this before I used the resin to glue it.

Wow! That is great work! How long was the print time? Where the contours sharp/edgy like regular PLA prints before you sanded it down?

Thanks. The printer has a high resolution so the edges are only as sharp or as dull as I want them. The original part was scanned so it matched the factory cupholder edges and other dimensions. Sanded down any edges that I didn’t like with 400 grit. The only problem I have found with resin printing is cheap resin is brittle and shatters. Good engineering resin that isn’t brittle and will hold up is $40-$200 a liter.
