This issue has plagued me for a while but today it seems to be even worse.
    • I'm using a Mac Mini and Chrome is my browser.
    • When using the upload feature I can browse the photos on my computer (which are synced to/from my phone using iCloud) but when I go into the Photos folder to find the images I want to post, for some reason only about half of my photos show up.
    • If I go to my Photos app I can see all my photos but if browsing my photos via the upload dialog box in Chrome they don't all show up.
    • My work around was previously to just drag and drop from the Photos app into the Chrome window. This was a little finicky but worked pretty well. Unfortunately, today this isn't working at all. I can drag but it won't accept the drop.
Anyone else have similar issues? For now I'm just posting on my computer then going back to add photos directly from my phone. It works, it's just super annoying.

Are all your photos either JPG or PNG?

Are these photos from a camera or images you've saved while browsing the web?

A lot of web photos are now WEBP and those won't upload on many sites.

    Try clearing the cache.

They're all photos taken with my phone which are synced to my computer via iCloud. As for format, older ones are JPG but I believe the newer ones are HEIF. I haven't noticed a difference due to file format but also haven't fully paid attention to that.

    I'll give that a try.

    Just did a test...

Clearing cache did not fix the issue.

File format is also not the issue. HEIC photos are visible within the upload dialog box but just not ALL of my photos. For example, I have 4 photos of something I'm trying to sell. My phone shows 4 photos. My computer shows 4 photos. But when I go to upload via the TW forum using a Chrome browser only 2 of those 4 photos are visible and available. The ones that are available upload normally.

The issue isn't so much with the inability to upload and instead it's the inability to access all my photos.

I had the same issues with linking Google Photo's. My "fix" was to create a free imgur account. Any photos I want to share here and on other sites get uploaded to imgur. Then I just copy the link and post it here. I'm fairly tech savvy and tried everything I could think of to make Google Photo links reliable. They just weren't.

Thanks for the response. My problem isn't with linking photos that are online, it's with uploading from my computer. I used to use Flickr to host photos online and then used those URL's via BBCode to post pics in forums (I've been a forum regular for 20+yrs). But more recently I've pretty much stopped using my Flickr account because the forums now have such good upload features.

It bugs me to have all my photos on my devices AND have to put them up on a service like imgur or Flickr. With how good Apple is about syncing between devices I'm trying to keep that as my only photo storage.

How big are the files that are failing out of curiosity? If you save an image from the web to your desktop, are you able to successfully upload that to a post on here?

Not sure on file size, I'll have to check that. But, I wouldn't expect that to be the problem since I would assume all of my photos are roughly the same size (since they're taken with the same camera under the same conditions).

I'm able to upload and post photos, that's not the problem. The problem is that the upload feature cannot SEE all of my photos. Since I cannot select all my photos I cannot upload them. The photos I can see, I can upload no problem.

Got it. Just for fun, does the same issue happen in Safari or it's just Chrome?

That's the next test I need to do when I get home and have some time to check. I hadn't even thought about the browser being the issue as it 'feels' like something else but in conversing here in this thread it makes me wonder and it's definitely something I should check. I may have Firefox on that computer as well which is another I can check (I hate Safari).

In the meantime, try with your phone; this would ensure its NOT something to do with your camera roll/icloud related (I would think).
