I just checked the warn only has in out on the controller, the controller is suspect as it is an aftermarket unit and not Warn. I'm betting there is some dumb reason why it's not working i just haven't found it yet.

That's interesting. A lot of a way of shutting power off to the winch. It's got to be something dumb you're overlooking.

Can you post a pic of it and how you have it wired up? I just got done putting my 10s in a few weeks ago, so its fairly fresh on my brain.

there should be a ground wire that needs to be grounded. when my Warn was new and on the bench it wouldn't do anything until it was grounded.

Also, my new 10s winch was shipped with the ground cable not connected. It was in a bag next to my controller bag.

Tahuya or a forest road might be best if you don't have a lift or sliders/skid plates. You'd be fine on either without those. I'm down for anywhere. I know Tahuya well but not a lot of forest roads that have good 4x4ing. I would also be down for some pew pew action if we find a spot along the way.

Which day works best for you two? I'm good Friday, Saturday or Monday anytime.

    Anyone else interested?

I'd be down, both wheeling and putting some holes in stuff. I did Tahuya on a spacer lift no problem, sliders/skids would help but you can drive around most of the hairy stuff (which isn't that hairy compared to some other parks I've been to). Weekends are easiest, however I can make it during the week with notice.

I was out at Stampede Pass this weekend and there's still lots of slushy crap snow on the roads when you get to higher elevations, I wasn't able to even get close to making it over the pass.

This is how the wiring looks, I'm bench testing it on my motorcycle battery that should be more than enough too run the winch. I have the 3 small grounds connected and in place. Still can't get anything from the solenoid.
Also just spoke with warn directly they said it's my KTI remote that is the issue. I guess they only work with factory warn Remote controls

You're definitely invited but every time we go out you bust something up on your truck :D

First few times I went to Tahuya were without any armor and no lift. Totally doable for a stock truck.

That sounds good, glad you’ve done it with the spacer lift. I don’t have sliders/skids. I’ve got steps right now, but can remove for that day if it’d be a wise decision.
I can do any of those days as well and I’m down for some pew pew action, been wanting to go do that anyways haha.

I'm jacking this thread up again. I'm visiting Seattle for the first time this July.
    Questions:
    1. What's the cheapest way to shuttle from Seattle airport to Alki Beach? Group of 6 people.

    2. For 4th of July fireworks, is it worth paying reserved seating at lake union Park?

    3. How bad is public transportation? We're planning on taking water taxi from to get to downtown, however it stops service early in the afternoon.

    Thanks in advance.

I live in West Seattle and use the water taxi near daily for commuting to downtown.

    1. Most economical is to use public transportation. Light rail from airport to SoDo, 50 route to Alki. Fare x 6 people will be $18 or so. It will probably take you 1.5 hours. Use the trip planner: tripplanner.kingcounty.gov.

    2. Don't know.

    3. I think its great. Water taxi last sailing is 18:45 from Pier 50 (downtown waterfront) on weekdays. Weekends it's later. Holidays are usually Sunday schedule. Look at the schedule here: https://kingcounty.gov/depts/transportation/water-taxi/west-seattle.aspx There are express busses during work days also, again, see trip planner above.

Bonus tip: water taxi fare is $5 per person 1 way. Get ORCA cards and day passes for everyone if you're going to use heavily during your stay, because all of these little trips will add up if they're spaced out and you don't qualify for ride transfers. Day pass is only good for fares up to a certain amount, so you have to have additional balance loaded onto the card in order to pay the different for the water taxi.

PM me with any additional questions if you like.

EDIT: For evenings when I miss the last water taxi, say I'm out to dinner with my wife, we'll take the C-line back to West Seattle / Alaska Junction and head home from there by additional bus or walking (might be a bit of walk to Alki).

Also, there are two free shuttles for the water taxi that circumnavigate Alki/Admiral neighborhood, or take you to/from Junction.

Saw this interesting set up. Longbed camper on a shortbed with a gate made from a pallet supporting it.

That's what I would have thought but the hinges and latch mounted onto the pallet-made-into-a-door makes me think it's a bit more permanent.
