Perhaps I missed it earlier, but has anyone had any success with the Anytime front cam/switch with the OEM rear cam and the Joying HU?? I have the anytime installed but can't figure out how to wire it all to the Joying HU so it will work. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! :)

I’m so sick of the Entune app not working after every single update on my phone or Toyota Entune update. Thinking of getting an aftermarket rig.

Hi Guys, I'm going to be getting the 9" unit with knob on the left side only for my 2015. Anyone know what else I need to complete the install smooth? Do I separate Canbus harness, or does this unit come with it already? I've also seen the little USB pigtail to keep the OEM USB slot.
Lastly, I'd LOVE to keep my front (aftermarket) and rear (OEM tailgate) cameras that I have working through the Anytime backup camera mod. If anybody has any insight on making that happen, I'd be very grateful. I love having a switch to toggle between the two, or make them come on whenever I please without messing with a User interface.

Edit: link to unit I'm getting. https://www.joyingauto.com/joying-9...or-toyota-tacoma-2005-2015-apple-carplay.html

Same. I think there's a few of us waiting to hear back about if ABC works with this HU or not.

It will. All that the ABC does is tricks the Headunit into thinking you switch to reverse. Adjust the settings to allow you to keep music playing while backing up. Otherwise it will mute everything while in reverse.

That makes sense. I'm assuming it's plug and play like it is w/the stock HU?

I've thought about this more since I posted, and even messaged Joying about it. The response was very high level and basic (and quick!), but I was told that no additional harness was needed and that my original camera can be kept. In my order, I indicated non-JBL and 2012 - 2015, which has the backup camera show up in the dash.

My interpretation is that the old stock HU harness, which contains the the video in, etc, will work. All the ABC kit offers is a middle man that adds a cut in video switch with the same harness plug on either side. So if the Joying plugs in to the stock head unit, then it should plug into the ABC harness adapter if I keep it there.

In any case, the Joying unit arrived today, and I'll report back this weekend after the install.

Looking forward to it. It's the only thing that's keeping me from buying it.

Is there any way possible to show me how you did this and where to add the 12V power? This is the last step I need on my 2015 with anytime backup (and front camera) installed and I desperately want to keep my switch toggle.

What component speakers are people running with these? Worth it to add a small 4ch amp as well?

I think it’s a mater of what you want out of the system. Me personally I am happy with the stock speakers with a small sub. The stock speakers sound a whole lot better on the Joying Head Unit and I know people have used Kicker and Rockford with great results on the Entune system. Adding an amp and better components starts a rabbit hole that can never be filled.

My stock speakers sound OK, but one of them pops a bit. Figured I'd just upgrade the whole system. I also want to add a small powered sub, but that's outside the scope of the component speakers.

Update for my 9" with knob unit. For my 2015 it does not support the OEM backup cam nor does it support the anytime backup camera. Joying support apologized and corrected me once I figured it out.

For my 28 pin connection, there are 2 wires from the ABC kit (orange and red from the override) that the Joying does not use.

The Joying doesn't use my 24 pin connection at all (which has the backup camera video feed I think)

I did get the front camera to work with the switch by plugging in one of the yellow RCA inputs that comes out of the anytime camera relay into the Joying backup input. I also had to connect the Joying "back" wire to the green wires from the switch and relays as well to accomplish this. ("back" wire on Joying is the reverse trigger)

I'm still not sure what to do with the extra red + orange wire that are unused on the 28 pin harness and how to get the switch to work with the backup camera as well. Something to do with powering the backup camera itself and using wires from the 24 pin connection harness that came with the ABC kit. If anyone can help here that would be great.

Would be nice to know the wiring diagram for a 2015 entune non jbl head unit to try to figure it out as well.

Aside from that, the experience is golden. Speaker output sounds great, carplay is great, maps is great, gps works, OBD2 works, Android 10 is a pleasure.

Microphone is weird. It's bad if I call directly from the head unit, but apparently works very well if I call using Android Carplay. Software related, but I haven't figured it out yet.

If you download maps to be available offline (click on your profile pic on Google maps and look for this option), then the GPS works ok and you don't need a connection.

I’m interested to hear anything you find wit the mic. I didn’t install the external mic because of all the reports of people using the Head unit mic and saying it works well. My HU mic on the 9” with single knob sucks something horrible. If I scream into the unit, you can still barely hear my voice.

I installed the external mic on my 8" with two knobs and have zero complaints from anyone I'm talking too. Because I did not use the mounting bracket from the OEM radio I added an extra ground wire from the chassis of the Joying head unit to some nearby metal.

This has been my experience. It's a potato. Google voice doesn't work. My wife would rather text me. Important convos need to be taken to my ear. I did have one instance where talking via carplay gave a decent conversation once but I can't replicate it. I've dug through all settings as well, including factory settings and can't find a good place to adjust mic sensitivity levels.

I'll try the included external mic tomorrow.

So far it seems like if I answer a call from the head unit it sounds okay. Any outgoing call or call answered via my phone is abysmal.
