Has anyone seen one of these? I was looking at ads while thinking about upgrading to a newer Tacoma, ran across this on a SB Double Cab 4x4:

That would be pretty cool if you could set it up and take it down like a tent. God knows I wouldn't put it on for longer than to get some sleep and keep the rain off me.

its kinda cool, atleast itll be easier to put on and take off whenever you want rather than a whole heavy camper shell.

That's closer to what I think I would pay if my truck wasn't for work.

For me 600 would still be worth it. This thing is great.

I kinda like that. I've eyeballed the truck tents, but figured you'd be screwed if you need to use the truck during the day while camping/fishing.

600 isn't too bad. Living in New Orleans, I've got to pack up everything of value a few times a year and drive 8 hours away for the Hurricane Festivals. I hate taking two cars whenever we evacuate.

Thanks for the input. I'm not considering the truck based on that contraption, was just curious if anyone knew the brand. I had seen the Bestop version, but it doesn't look like they make a SB size.

Here's the link to the truck, does this seem worth it?

My current Tacoma (02) was 3 years old with 19400 miles on it when I got it, so this seems like a ton of miles to me, but I know it's not really that much. I guess what I'm trying to figure is if this is worth the $$ vs. shelling out that much more for an '09...

Think about this. Go to Karl Malone and see if you can get the 0% financing on the 2009. At the very least they can get you something like 4% over 5 years (I think). Then look at what it will cost you to get a 2005 pre-owned. They will rape you on interest and the monthly will be about the same. That is why I went with new over a pre-owned.

Can you drive with that thing up?

Looks like a good idea for those "roughin it" nights when you don't REALLY feel like sleeping in the mud.
