Last year, it was on my list of things to do, I was supposed to meet up with a buddy and watch him clean a deer.
I wanted to learn.
You never know.
I have no idea how to skin something and eat it, but we have a lot of deer, and if the sh*t ever hit the fan, believe you me, I ain't gonna starve. That's why I wanted to watch.
I actually had a big open trade at the time, he had shot a nice buck, and I told him I couldn't come and watch.

There's a lot to it I guess. Cleaning a deer. Like the blood, he said it ruins the meat. A bunch of things like that.

 

Deer are easy. Kill it, hang it by the head from a branch. Split it down the middle and cut out the sex organs (stops hormones from tainting the meat). Let it bleed for a bit, lower it down and go to work cutting up the carcass.

 

TRY not to cut the intestines...they make gutting blades...
Ring around the rumpsy...most important cut...
This is also why you can't eat most road kill..The impact bursts the inner organs and the meat gets fouled.
