A day pass is like 80 some bucks. There is no single night camping passes. Online ticket sales have ended, but passes should be available at the gate. They might be a lil more expensive at the gate as well.

Which runs would you recommend doing? (I'd like to avoid trail rash...)

How many hours are they planning round trip? Chumstick is a pretty sweet area but I wouldn’t want to be gone all day. Does Tronson get up in the Alpine?

Our run is listed 5-6 hours, and I do remember having lunch out on the trail when Mike led this same run during my first time out to the Rally (back when I had just met Mike and still had a stock Tacoma). So that sounds about right, back around 2 or 3pm. Biggest thing right now is we aren't sure of conditions. We are planning to pre-run it Friday. It's possible there are a bzillion trees down, and it's also possible areas still have snow. We're bringing at least 2 chainsaws and like 5 sets of Maxtrax between our two rigs, lol. Hopefully not needed. Mike has some other ideas if the trail is impassable, so I'm sure it'll be a good drive no matter what.

Here are a couple pics from a friend's birthday run we did last October. Same trail.

Honestly, I've only done Tronson Ridge so far. I've done the BDR through this area as well, but it sticks to the gravel roads (not that that isn't a fun drive). Beehive washout is definitely a fun up and down for most people. I'm sure all the trail runs are great, and wouldn't mind doing them all someday myself.

As for trail rash... I'd say unlikely as long as you are driving a midsized rig like our Tacomas, and don't drive like an idiot. There was an old f350 crew with an 8 foot bed that went with us before, but that guy didn't care about body damage or banging against trees. That was 5 years ago too, and trails change. Like most/all of these trail runs, it's mainly gravel roads to get some views and not push people too far outta their comfort zones. Some folks are total newbies, and that's fine.

Ah, I did beehive washout last year on my half BDR run, so I suppose I can skip that one.

It's only because I've learned the lesson the hard way in the past. :anonymous:

    EDIT:
I signed up for the Friday morning Sugarloaf Mountain run. There's stuff on Saturday at the rally I want to attend.

I was just saying those are the only areas I've hit up out there. But yes, this is a side trail off that section of the BDR. Don't plan to hit the Beehive washout for this run, unless we need to change our route based on conditions. None of the Rally's trail runs will be anything all that exciting to regulars of this type of stuff.

I was going to say something like this earlier but I figured you guys would think I’m a whiner at 11:30am:rofl: I’m home and loading up. It’s going to take everything I have in will power not to hit the road once I shut the swingout. I’m so ready to get the fuck outta town.

I was supposed to start packing 45 minutes ago. I'm still stuck working with no end in sight.
