How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

@Saluki22, weren't you on QC hold in Chicago? Does this mean they sent it to Princeton for rework?

 

@Rod03 are you by chance able to see any update on VIN 3TMGZ5ANXNM503972 ? It's been sitting in F for awhile. I think last time you looked a week and a half ago it had left by rail on 5/27. Dealer claims they don't know what is going on. Thanks very much!

 

Just put a deposit on a Tacoma over the weekend and was told anywhere from 4-6 months.

Not sure if anyone could answer, if you've been given a temp VIN (which I'm assuming its been allotted). Can you still add certain packages or remove them?

I was given a handout which contained the temp VIN and all the packages/accessories of the truck including the OTD price. I wanted BSM and LED headlights and on the sheet I saw the LED headlights package, but didn't see anything BSM. I told the dealer multiple times I have to have BSM also as I'm not settling for less. I was assure multiple times that I'd get the BSM. After a few days had came, I entered the temp VIN into the Toyota Owners -- Vehicle Spec and saw the typical info -- VIN, Model, Order Date, etc... but there is nothing under the "Port or Factory Installed Equipment" section. Just wanted to post on here and see if anyone had some kind idea/or insight before I get in touch with the dealer as I don't want to waste my time waiting and then once the truck lands it's not what I wanted.

Generally, no.
The allocation is what it is.
But, if you just want to add accessories like steps, door protectors, tailgate lock, etc, you can have them installed at the dealership upon taking delivery.

 

Is BSM part of the tech or protection packages, does it list any of those on the build sheet?

I was afraid this is what it was going to end up as. I really just wanted LED Headlights and the Tech Package with the BSM,etc... but now it seems its ending up as no Tech Package and a bunch of other accessories that I could do without. Will have to get into contact with the dealer and see what they say, just not sure why they kept telling me multiple times it has the Tech Package.

The BSM is part of the Tech Package and I think it costs $800. It's also part of the "Premium Audio and Navigation Package with options" which also includes LED headlights and runs $2790. On the build sheet the dealer gave me it just shows "Premium Audio and Navigation Package" and when I add the cost of LED headlights and Premium Audio and Navigation Package together on the build sheet the dealer gave me it doesn't add up into $2790 it only adds up into $1990. When you add the $800 it equals the $2790 that the package costs. So yeah, will have to get in touch with them, see why they kept telling me it has BSM, but so far nothings adding up to BSM being in there.

 

I thought there was a post in this thread (maybe 10 pages back) that read BSM / CTMS would be deleted going forward, since Toyota can't get the parts to finish the truck(s) that "come" with it....

 

My salesman just let me know my truck is finally in transit after being in QC since 5/24. There is hope out there for everyone stuck in QC.

 

It took me a while to figure it out, but basically it comes down to this: You can’t “order” a Tacoma. All my friends and family still don’t seem to understand this, but toyota releases “allocations” to dealers with set options. The dealer then chooses to accept or decline the allocation. These days, it seems all dealers are accepting what they can since everything sells.

Any dealer will take your deposit and put you on a list. In your case, it seems your allocated truck doesn’t have your options. It’s not the truck for you.

I too had set options I wanted, but was having a hard time finding my preferred color. I could find trucks that had 5 of the 6 options, but not exactly what I wanted. I ended up just putting a deposit down on a limited mode that had more than I needed but everything I wanted.

I found the allocated model I was after using auto trader of all things. The dealer was several hours away, but agreed to sell to me as MSRP. This seems to be the best price most are getting these days. I would cancel your deposit, use auto trader to sort through what’s out there, then carefully review the window sticker on the dealers website to confirm it has what you want. Good luck!

 

well, im new to the forum. Put money down on a red tacoma trd or for my son.. and after reading this forum, I went ahead and put money down on a silver one for me. I assumed it was Chicago but...... it was Princeton Indiana it's actually closer me.... but still waiting day 22, unfortunately that part is correct LoL.....(QC hold is off)

 

My Pro is a week 24 build (this week) per the temp VIN. No one has explicitly told me of any delays - but we all know there will be...

 

Because we have new Tacoma owners here, I have a question for the ones that had the All Weather Floor Mats installed at port. Did you also get the Carpeted Floor Mats with your truck? This may be the wrong forum to ask this, so asking forgiveness now.
