I ordered a new Pioneer cable on Amazon, but it won't be here until Tuesday; Bluetooth is acting funny and I need my tunes, so I ripped out the failed cable and plugged my iPod charger directly into the back of the head unit...

I hate taking apart the dash in my truck, with a blistering passion!

Sitting thru the 2nd power outage in less than a week, sounds like a Derechio is on the way tonight too. Last time one of those hit it knocked the power out for 8 or 9 days and naturally it was over 100 degrees.

 

The Pioneer cable on Amazon is almost half the price of an Insignia cable from Best Buy; Should be arriving today!

 

Yeah, a "Garfield the cat" themed 1988 Honda Civic with modifications that probably exceed the car's MSRP when new, the slammed 1994 T4R that I already posted, a 1997 Honda Odyssey with a tower of speakers in the back...

 

Not really; Aside from the 1960s Chevy flatbed that was supposed to look like it was fresh out of a barn, everything there either really high-end and/or had a small fortune invested in the upgrades.

I first went to the Buck Motorsports Park in Quarryville, Pennsylvania in June 2014 for a diesel truck sled pull; My dad drove, because at the time I'd only had my license for a few years and had minimal experience driving on the turnpike. I had a blast. Due to a combination of factors, I did not go back to the Buck until the summer of 2018; I went a few times a year for various events during the 2018, 2019, and 2021 seasons. The Buck was closed for the entire 2020 season due to the COVID pandemic, but it reopened with a vengeance in 2021; During the 2021 season, I had two separate incidents at the Buck that made me strongly consider never going back...

I shared the June 2021 incident with @ColoradoTJ not long after it happened, and he didn't seem to think I was in the wrong; I shared it with my dad and my friend Jeff, who are veterans like Chris, and they also didn't judge me for my actions. I had spent the entire day NSRA show at the York Fairgrounds, and since the Buck was basically on the way home, I decided to stop there on the way back; It was the Mud Bog/Tuff Truck Season Opener if I remember correctly.

I have Aspergers Syndrome; Pretty much everybody on TW knows this. One of the many issues people on the autism spectrum have is a tendency to be unaware of their surroundings; I had just spent an entire day at a huge car show and then driven almost an hour to this event, and my foot hurt for reasons I can't remember. They always play the National Anthem before the show starts, and I zoned out as people on the autism spectrum tend to do at times; I was leaning against a concrete wall (not sitting down and with my hat off), and I remained in this position for the entire National Anthem. I will admit that I should have been paying more attention...

Out of nowhere this fat redneck type, a perfect stranger, comes up to me and starts berating me for not standing for the flag and being disrespectful to veterans; He is honestly lucky I didn't punch his lights out for (A) getting in the face of a perfect stranger, and (B) cussing at a perfect stranger...

The thing about me is that even if I am fully in the wrong, I tend to become very defensive if someone is an asshole right out of the gate; Once you start getting in my face and cussing at me, you have forfeited your rights for me to be diplomatic!

I reported the incident to the manager of the Buck, and I still a bit hot from being confronted, which led to me referring to the confrontational redneck as a "fat fuck" when talking to the woman; This played a role in me not getting much sympathy.

Yes, I should have been more attentive and stood all the way up for the anthem, but I think I have a right to not be confronted by perfect strangers about shit that is absolutely none of their business!

The second incident occurred in August or possibly September when I brought my mentally ill soon-to-be ex-girlfriend to a demolition derby (I didn't realize how mentally ill she was at the time). The Buck is a rather rudimentary place compared to larger and more established and better-organized venues like the Carlisle Farigrounds and the York Fairgrounds; As such, their standards aren't as high with regards to who they hire...

The spectator lot at the Buck is just a grass field, with a gravel road leading to it. Purely out of habit, I ride the brake pedal going through these lots because other people are dopes and I don't want to hit anybody; I drove onto the grass from the gravel and my rear wheels got a bit hung up on the part where it goes from gravel to grass, since I was going really slow. Purely out of reflex, I hit the gas; The limited-slip differential kicked in, and my truck kicked up some gravel and dust...

I continued to the nearest open parking space; I had the windows down, and as I was parking, one of the so-called security guards came up to my truck and rather confrontationally said "Spinning tires; First warning."

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!

I was upset, and I was like "Dude, my truck has rear-wheel drive and I got hung up; It was an accident!" The "security guard" was your typical Lancaster-area redneck, likely with no formal training, who liked to start shit with spectators; He said "Okay", but was still an asshole.

And then to make matters worse, as stated above my girlfriend was with me; Contrary to popular belief, I am capable of figuring out when something isn't worth my time or energy, and knowing when it's best to just walk away. In the words of my ex's dad, "everybody is an asshole except her." She will get fired up and become beligerant at the drop of a hat if she feels like someone has slighted her, or in that case somebody she cares about...

I had to calm my ex down so she didn't start something with the security guy; Once we got to the ticket booth, I reported the guy's rude behavior to one of the higher-ups and was given an apology. This was the last time I went on a date with this girl, for numerous reasons.

In case anybody forgot...

This was the same chick who I was kind enough to share my stash of Diet Sunkist with and who, in her infinite wisdom, decided to chuck the aluminum can out the window of my truck on Almshouse Road upon finishing the soda because she didn't feel like holding it and didn't know what to do with it; She then became incredibly angry and loud when I understandably became irate with her for littering, to the point where I thought she might hit me...

I was worried that she might hit me because she once punched a friend's fiance in the face for calling her "trash" and seemed to think she was justified in doing so; The biggest mistake I've made since COVID started was sleeping with this nutcase! I got into fights with kids who bullied me in middle school and high school, but I was just a kid then; There's a big difference between a 15-year old hitting somebody who insulted them and a 30-year old hitting someone who insulted them!

Remember the incident at the Carlisle Truck Nationals last August? The drunk fat redneck who came to up my truck, called me a "Fucking Commie", and went on a racist rant against Japanese people, all because I dared to put an American flag plate on the front of my Toyota truck?

One can only hope that if that douchebag doesn't change his ways, he will get a sweet dose of karma when he pisses off the wrong person and wakes up in a hospital with roaring hangover and his front teeth missing!
