I just took that the picture in the trunk of my buddy's car; He added a new red dot to it before we shot it.

Nice, man! We used to get the big cardboard action hero cutouts from a buddy that worked at the movie theater and take them out to our land for life size target practice

Looking back as bad as the rock is at acting I don’t think he deserved to be used like that haha.

Keep going! Repetition is helpful :)

I don't think Dwayne Johnson is that bad; Clearly not the best as he started out as a professional wrestler, but not the worst, either...

I'd say that one of the most miscast characters ever was Ben Affleck as Batman... o_O

Not to derail your awesome firearm experience, but I thought Christian Bale was an interesting Batman as he’s an amazing actor but his mouth is kind of distracting without the batsuit!

I’m glad you started with rifles. Every time I take friends they want to shoot the pistols first but rifles are more fun and easier to aim, shoot, etc :)

Actually, I've already fire pistols; I liked Christian Bale as Batman...

Nice! You’re a renaissance man through and through! I love having a stick shift pickup. You look nice when people ask to borrow it and you say yes … knowing full well they can’t drive it haha.

As a person who speaks openly about Asperger’s would you care to share how these experiences shooting and driving etc are mundane/unique/personal to you? I’d be happy to learn more from you! :)

I’ve been told I have Low Latent Inhibition which leads to pretty intense interest in specific topics until I flush them out to a satisfactory level. I’ve found that my friends on the spectrum also usually have either one intense interest or cycle through new experiences with great interest. I find comfort in the company of like minded people :) I’ve always knows enough human beings to know no one is in a box or the same as anyone else! Ha

I know nothing about Low Latent Inhibition, but since this is about autism and firearms, I'll start by telling you about my experiences with shooting as someone on the spectrum.

I didn't mind the inevitable noises of being on an indoor shooting range as much as I thought I would, though being in the next range over from someone firing an AR-15 or high-caliber revolver is still a bit much even with earplugs and heavy-duty earmuffs on. I just deal with it because Guardian Training Center is probably the best range in my area; Now that the weather has warmed up, I will probably be going to this one outdoor range with my dad.

This wasn't an autism thing, but just a matter of personal preference; After firing both an AK-47 and an AR-15 back to back, I can tell you that I definitely prefer the AR. Both weapons are roughly the same in terms of the loudness factor when fired, but the AR is a smaller caliber and a lot easier to handle as a result; The AR-15 also has a scope and optics, while that particular AK-47 did not.

they also have rail mounts for the dust cover but they prob dont hold zero very good if it doesnt have a side mount.

AK and AR just plain shoot different. I honestly like both

Also, my mom does not like that I've developed an interest in guns and shooting recently. Most of it is because she's afraid I'll do something stupid that leads to serious injury or death; I am no gun expert, but I have common sense and am very OCD about gun safety when handling them. The other half of it, without a doubt, is due to recent events in this country involving bad people who shouldn't have guns. What can I say? My mom isn't against the 2nd amendment, but my dad took her shooting once years ago and she didn't like it; Now, she's just doing what moms do best!

The AR is superior for sure. AK don't like to admit the facts :D

I always like BCM ARs, personally. Cheers, man!

I like both too, but I am still a novice shooter; My buddy who provided the two weapons seen here is an Army combat veteran who served in Afghanistan, and has experience with guns that make these two rifles look like toys. Prior to this, the biggest gun I'd ever fired based on both the rounds and actual physical size of the weapon itself was a 12-gauge pump action Mossberg shotgun. In terms of just plain fun in target shooting, the shotgun has been my favorite so far. This one one guy I know has a bullpup tactical shotgun that I was able to get a picture of (in the bed of my truck, no less), which I will post once I get home from work.

Unfortunately, the Sandy Hook shooter had autism; I forget whether it was Aspergers, but he was definitely high-functioning autistic...

This upsets me because it will give uneducated people the impression that people with autism are predisposed to doing this sort of thing; This is most certainly not the case. I know two gun owners with autism, and they very responsible when it comes to the handling of their weapons. My interest in guns is almost entirely for recreational purposes, and the only times I'd ever dream of actually shooting another human being are (A) if they were breaking into my house, and (B) if my life or the life of someone else was put in immediate danger by that person.

Not all AK's. I have 3 and none have the plate on the side for optics mounting.

I've seen pictures of dust cover mounts, but I don't see how they would hold zero with an optic.
