I loved watching Lorenzo, especially once he got himself dialed. As far as most consistent race pace, I think he holds the record for being within 1 to 2 tenths of a second almost every lap... I can't recall the track or year though. He was never the same after that weird T1 crash on the Honda when the bike / braking system had a malfunction. That was a bad crash... He and Rossi had some really great battles over the years. With Marquez too...

I'd love to know the damage totals in US dollars that teams had to spend to repair or replace Crutchlow and Marquez's bikes over the years. lol

Even with injury protocols, I think the real responsibility is within the rider and the doctor's orders / recommendation. I don't expect a racing org to dictate whether someone is fit enough to take another crash. As you said, ambition outweighed talent.

The real shame of that situation, imo, is that Dovi was always Marquez's best competition, coming in second overall 3 times. Had Ducati not canned him that year, he would have won at least the next year if not 2 Championships. With Yamaha being a completely different riding style and a hot mess:bananadead:, Dovi has got to be questioning his sanity. He's a great rider and I hate seeing him in this situation.

Speaking of great guy, great rider... Wish I could have made it to VIR to see Petrucci doing work on the AMA Superbike guys. I guess I'll be seeing them at Pittsburgh International Raceway soon enough.

    Catalan picks:

    A. Espargaro 5
    Quartararo 3
    Bagnaia 2

Zarco is a good possibility for podium too. All those guys were looking pretty consistent making for easy pics. lol...

I feel like I should have given Quartararo 4 and Bagnaia 1 on my betting league though.

Silly season rumors: Miller out at Ducati, going to KTM.

I'd say he's gotta go somewhere. No consistency with Miller. Being quite dramatic at times, he's like the Vinales of Ducati. :notsure:

Well, that was rather embarrassing for Mr. Espargaro. He lost some very valuable points in that confusion.

    Can't believe he did that.
    :smash::smash::smash:

Also, on the topic of Jack, I wonder how he would have fared on the RNF Aprilia. I hope he does well on the KTM. Seems like their lack of willingness to conform with the big boys is still hurting them.

Are you referring to Ducati when you say "their lack of willingness to conform" ?

No--KTM. They insist on sticking with their trellis frame and WP suspension. I don't think their mediocre talent is doing them any favors either.

I gotcha. It's probably hard for them to contend with the big name manufacturers on (I'm guessing) a smaller budget. Would be cool to see Quartararo on a KTM for a bit to see his take on it.

WP is an in house brand, so I understand why they use it. HRC used to use Showa and Nissin but changed to Ohlins and Brembo. I imagine budget isn't too much of an issue for KTM. They have that Red Bull money, right?

More silly season rumors. Mir to Honda and, can it be? Razgatlioglu to Yamaha? He officially tested the bike today with Crutchlow.

I'm not surprised by the Mir move, but Lin Jarvis and even Toprak himself have been pretty adamant that he's not coming to the show...at least not yet.

Yeah I can't remember if I've ever seen anyone go from WSBK to MotoGP? It's always the other way around.

How long have you been following MotoGP? There's a couple big ones you're missing ;)

    Think early 2000's.
