Please read the above quoted post; In June 2020, I went to Mission BBQ on my lunch break and took my mask down below my nose to keep my glasses from fogging up while I placed the order. Even in back in 2020, Mission BBQ never enforced mandates; This guy in his early 20s decided to get right in my face and lecture me about not wearing my mask properly. I gave him two chances to back off, and strike three would have resulted in me putting him on his ass if the manager of the restaurant hadn't intervened. The manager took my side, by the way...

I also got into an argument at the local Toyota dealer in 2021 when a service writer, wearing a mask and sitting behind a clear plexiglass panel, told me he could not hear me because of my mask. I took my mask off, and he proceeded to demand that I put my mask back on...

    :annoyed:

Thankfully, only hospitals and other medical-related facilities require masks nowadays, because due to my autism-related sensory issues I cannot deal with wearing a mask for extended periods of time anymore. Words cannot describe how happy I am that the mask mandate on commercial flights was dropped!

My deal with masks is that no matter how well fitted they are, they ultimately end up causing my glasses to fog up. I also feel like they impede my breathing; The frustration factor muliplies tenfold the longer I have to wear the damn thing, and it leads to me lashing out at people.

I have Amish around here too, occasionally shop in there stores. One hardware store used natural gas to make flames for lights.

Forget about 6-foot "social distancing" due to COVID; Even before the pandemic started, that asshole would have been way too close! He did violate the 6-foot social distance guidelines to lecture me though, and if he'd been infected he probably would have infected me even with his mask on...

I had my Aspergers thread and my build thread combined back in late 2019; There's a lot more about my experiences with being on the autism spectrum in here than in the other thread! :)

As of right now, the A/C works fine, but I am afraid that at best my A/C is going to suddenly quit working before I can get it fixed, and at worst my truck will catch on fire.

    So much truth...never really know.

A college friend of mine had a handicapped plate on the car he drove. Turns out his aunt owned the car and wasn't able to drive anymore. He would only park in the designated spot if he was dropping her off or picking her up and quite a few times when doing a pickup would catch guff "oh you don't look handicapped" or worse.

My brother in law has a placard being that he has 2 knee replacements, among other things. Keeps it with him but doesn't usually use it. We brought it (with my truck) to a show quite a few times and only used it once.

I would say....try not to put yourself in places where there are people who can't see the world for any more than the 3 foot circle around them. I do my best to do just that.

And I don't know if I ever told anybody about the bizarre encounter at the cars and coffee in like April 2020; I was taking pictures of this 1980s Porsche 911 that was clearly part of this cars and coffee, which is basically a car show where exotic cars show up and taking pictures of them is encouraged.

This random guy comes up to me and asks what's going on, then asks what's so special about the Porsche.

I tell him that it's a Porsche so-and-so, and I'm also pretty sure I told him it was a cars and coffee. He admitted to not knowing much about cars, and it should have ended there.

I then see this gorgeous red Ferrari parked nearby and go to take pictures of it; This stranger followed me, and asked me why I was taking pictures of peoples' cars. I about lost my shit at that point. Yes, I was walking around a parking lot with my big professional-style camera, but at this point only a moron would not be able to tell that this was some sort of car show; There were numerous other people walking around with cameras like mine, and I forget what I said to finally get rid of this guy...

I told him that this was a Ferrari, which he seemed utterly confused by, and reiterated once again that this was basically a car show; As I said, he didn't seem to understand what a Ferrari was, so I said it was a very expensive Italian sports car and again stated that this was a car show.

The guy did not seem to mentally ill or be intellectually disabled, but more than two years after this happened, his behavior still confounds me!
