How does your oil look?

Your radiator contamination looks kinda sus

 

That sucks. Is it oil or exhaust? Harborfreight has a tool to test to see it your getting exhaust into your fluid.

 

Agreed, don’t like seeing it. I’ve never done a full coolant flush on this truck so I’m wondering after I swapped the radiator couple months ago, it kicked some shit up?
Fingers crossed. Otherwise, might try to get a compression test done on it, hoping it’s not a head gasket issue or worse a cracked in the block.

 

High trans temps will degrade the fluid. Keeping the fluid fresh should help.

I've started doing drain and fills at once a year intervals depending on miles traveled and severity/frequency of situations where the temps got to 230° and above. A drain and fill won't get it all (~4-5 qts) but will freshen it up quite a bit.

 

Well… My wife is pregnant and I’ve taken a 35% paycut to work closer to home. And now I have been asked to sell my truck… . What’s a guy to do lol.

You'd be better served with ammo in the safe than cash in the bank.

A paid off vehicle in the driveway is more valuable than that amount (today's value) of cash in the bank too.

That cash is shirking at a significant clip nowdays.

 

What is the reasoning behind selling the truck? Not being sarcastic or arguementative. Just trying to understand the logic.

 

Can’t agree more with that too! But I’ve got about 3000rds of 7.62 and half that of 30.06.. I’m kind of ready for some shit to go down there haha.

 

1) I rarely get time to go wheeling as it is. Now throw another kid at it.
2) just having that money as a float.. the pay cut is pretty horrible. But worth it to be home and outta the desert.
3) I don’t think my wife likes being the 2nd love of my life.. jealousy.

Just chiming in as someone who sold a truck to gain a buffer. It was a pointless effort and building one back just to the same level, never mind beyond that now... 2 years later was nearly twice as expensive. Sale vs replacement cost is real, unless you're out of the hobby for a long time it's not a good idea me thinks.

 

1) Shit hits the fan... you may get more time (and need) for wheelin. How many kids?
2) Do you have a payment on the truck? How many vehicles are you at?
3) Can't help ya with that one

 

Congrats? If it's paid for, what would that benefit? Plenty here make it work with car seats. If your truck is special to you she should respect that. Hell, in moments of weakness I've talked about selling mine and been met with a heavy handed "the fuck you are".
