Well it's playing into the ol joke about Montana only having two seasons. Winter and road construction gonna be lots of the latter this summer. talking to my friends whose folks were evacuated last night they expect peak water later tonight.

 

hope so. I think it'll be up and down a bit all week. Snow is gonna start melting fast this week.

 

Just looked at the topography of red lodge and it's pretty obvious that the town is built down in the flood plain, so it's not that shocking to see.

 

yeah well most towns around rivers are in the flood plane haha

I've seen photos of Lamar valley that's just a bad and cooke city. Ain't no one going to go there this summer again I think.


212 out of red lodge is washed out in 2 places.

Highway here is washed out in 2 places.

Must have happened pretty quickly for that vehicle to get trapped like that.

 

East entrance has damage at Pahaska. Idk about the North Fork stuff yet.

Nah thats a grader for snow so was probably parked there just in case. But it did happen in the span of about 12 hours.

 

damn haha Morrison got hit again. the Clarks Fork flooded of course. Road is well...probably gone.

Geez, the DUB has been right on the southern edge of this weather system the whole time and I’m happy to say since it’s not quite a 100yds out my front door the wind river is still in its banks. Been a cool couple of weeks of doing some low level stuff and a couple of good rides. Everyone stay dry.

In other news, I know some of you hate vans but I gotta say, it was so nice to have a place to change clothes, freshen up, and brush my teeth before a job interview today.

 

‘Tis but a humble 200, except with every mod, minus autothrottles and Proline fusion that the 260’s that are rolling off the assembly line right now. Has NXI with all the options and having used all of “the big three” avionics suites, I’m a complete Garmin homer at this point. I suck at photos/angles. The sunset in the last post was too good to resist.

 

That is a beautiful plane. I am but a humble sim pilot, but even there the Garmin setups reign supreme. Do you do mostly passenger or cargo flights?

 

Why did you have to do that before a job interview? And not at home?


Out town has some flooding. Our house is going to be fine. Thought.

The road to my work is almost gone. So that'll be interesting. Both routes are impassible.

Reed point is under water now. Major major damage in red lodge and Roscoe almost got wiped off the map. More water is coming too.

I unfortunately left for my Grandpa's funeral. Just landed in Alaska. Won't get back till Friday. Feel bad..such turmoil.
