12.9 actually. The PCM is the limiting factor on these AFR sensors out of all things.

All this tuning talk makes me realize how bare and basic our PCM's are as far as information output goes. It still surprises me to this day.

then again these pcm designs are almost 20 years old for these model trucks. and toyota wasn't putting in crazy effort to be tech savvy for mod hounds like us.

I wonder how much more data output the modern Tacomas and Tundras have.

I log the same channels on a 2005 Tacoma as I do on 2021 Tundras. The ECU’s are quite similar.

The 3G Tacoma with D4S has the more complex ECU.

How's the shifting work on the gen3 taco vs gen 2.5 tundra? I don't feel any of the gear hunting in the 2021 tundra like I did in my 2016 taco up in the mountains

The mapping structure is basically the same for all the Toyota platforms. Accelerator angle vs output shaft speed with the upshift and downshift maps forming a "window" defining when the trans commands upshifts or downshifts.

It's how that "window" is structured is what defines the "hunting" behavior or lack thereof. The Tundra has a similar structure to the 2G Tacoma in terms of how the transmission will behave. The 3rd Gen Tacoma has oddities in how the window was shaped. I can't say for certain what their design criteria was as it just doesn't make sense.

Nd4spdbh would probably have some more insight into the turd gens.

Toyota really needs to get with the program as far as shift logic is concerned considering that almost every other manufacturer (Mazda GM, Ford, even Honda) has refined the life out of all their transmission shift logic now. The Mazda 3 hatchbacks have some EXCELLENT shift logic on their platform, and those cars are from a while ago.

They probably just figure these trucks and cars sell like hotcakes, let's put in as little effort as possible to make it look good and we'll continue to sell them. "Forget the customer feedback, we run the program here. They're lucky we even cater to them."

The OTT trans tuning for the 3rd Gen works quite well ;) Combined with the improved low end and midrange we’ve uncorked, we’ve developed a model that works quite well at delivering a shifting logic that actually makes sense and delivers what you’d expect from your pedal inputs.

Ok guy's I need all the knowledge you guys can hit me with please!
URD 2.7 pulley, I know that I need to cut the snout but I'm reading all this different things that I don't have a clue of how to go about them or if I need them?

1, wrap mode, what is it?

2, belt cutting , what is the part# for the belt that needs to be cut and where to cut?

3 Roush tensioner, is it needed?

I'm trying to get everything I want on my truck before I go to get HP tune on it!

    Don’t need the tensioner.

if you do the pulley wrap, you can do a stock size belt.

if you don’t do the pulley wrap, you’ll have to get one of the belts listed on page 1 and cut a couple ribs off.

I had a 2.7 with the pulley wrap mod and stock belt. It started looking old and as if it would fail soon. I took it off as well as the 2.7 and went back to a 2.8. Not much difference at all in my opinion. I was never a fan of cutting up a belt so I never did.

I always had bad luck cutting the green belts. I blew them quite often. But, that could be for other reasons too such as extra small pulley and high performance operating foot practices.
