Everything LEGO thread!

I can't get over how much Lego has changed over the years. I started becoming a Lego nut somewhere around 1968-1969. I remember when we thought a 4x1 brick with a painted grille was cool. Roof bricks came in red only. My first Lego motor was this:

Smooth surfaced pieces were very rare. Bricks came in red or white only until they introduced blue and then black. And minifigs were uncommon and very plain. My little grandsons now have what is left of my Lego, combined with what's left of my son's Lego and Duplo.

 

Oldest ran errands with the Mrs this weekend, and suckered her into getting this.

We have been doing some remodeling, so haven't really been building because we don't have a place to put the builds.

This is what's piled up, for once we are done.

 

I love the classic Batmobile. I'm thinking about getting the Tumbler soon.

 

Last section of this build complete… and with that the last bit of room in my cabinet is gone.

 

I really like how this looks.

 

Time to get another cabinet

 

Hmm I feel like I know a guy with a blue jeep that loves legos who'd really love that. I just can't quite place my finger on it. Hmmm.

Reworked the front a bit. The headlights sit a bit better now and the first design used brackets that aren't available in blue. Should be buildable now.

 

we have a very similar collection. Been debating on diagon alley but the price is ouff, buttt… after seeing your build pictures it’s a lot more tempting.

Better decide before Lego price hikes set in in September....which may cause me to buy a few of the older sets before anything goes up in price. Wish there was a list of which ones that were going up

 

Go for it! The cabinet is an IKEA Regissor, it seems much sturdier than their typical furniture.

this is good to know, there’s a couple large sets I should grab before that happens.

 

good to know! We have a China cabinet full of China, a hutch full of crystal and yeti’s, I think a Lego cabinet is in order. Just bought a house and lots of room in the basement to finally have a toy room but it’s an unfinished basement so we got some work to do yet.

 

Just went by the Lego store, they have boxes of the throwback woodsmen castle set promo if you spend $150. I’m exercising patience until the new Harry Potter sets are released Sunday. Second-guessing that decision now and wondering if any will be left in 4 days.
