I don't know if this is the original shifter or not, but one thing to keep in mind is the black portion is rubber injected to help reduce trans noise in the cabin. On my 05 that rubber broke down leaving a lot of slop in the shifter, a new OEM assembly was night and day difference. I only mention it because you replaced the plastic bushing so maybe the goal of that was to help with slop.

thanks, yes, shifter was pretty sloppy and the bushing seems to have tightened it up alot, we did look at the rubber filling and it still seemed pretty solid so going with it like this for now

We got the PS reservoir back in:
    upload_2022-6-20_7-42-52.jpg

and a new DENSO condenser. we got it from rock auto and it says that it doesn't come with a dryer so we bought a dryer also, but there was one in it under the plastic cap:
    upload_2022-6-20_7-44-30.jpg

Looking at the old one, we may have found the leak, one of the fittings was pretty corroded:
    upload_2022-6-20_7-46-6.jpg

Got it in with new seals with some PAG46 oil on each one:
    upload_2022-6-20_7-47-25.jpg

    upload_2022-6-20_7-47-52.jpg

The new compressor had a tag that said it came with 5.6 oz of oil. We put a cup under it and rotated it by hand until we got about 2 oz out of it, then put about 1 oz into the condenser.
    upload_2022-6-20_7-51-27.jpg

We sand blasted and painted the radiator hose clamps:
    upload_2022-6-20_7-48-45.jpg

and got the radiator back in, we reused the original:

The secondary filter had some stuff in it that we didn't want to work through over time so we removed it:
    upload_2022-6-20_8-10-27.jpg

    upload_2022-6-20_8-11-5.jpg

put it back on with the washer tank and battery:
    upload_2022-6-20_8-11-57.jpg

Added peak Asian, it took 2 gallons:
    upload_2022-6-20_8-13-21.jpg

And valvoline max life ATF in the PS reservoir. We slowly cycled the steering rack back (engine off) and forth to get the air out
    upload_2022-6-20_8-15-34.jpg

Checked for leaks, crossed our fingers and tried to start it... and it started right up!

We decided to go with Elka for front shocks after looking at some of the corrosion issues people have had with everything that is steel bodied. got them through headstrong, they had one pair in stock. They are really nice:

We put the CV axles back together last night, black grease into the outer:
    upload_2022-6-23_7-44-54.jpg

    then the outer boot:
    upload_2022-6-23_7-45-45.jpg

Then put the inner boot on and tap the roller thing back on, brown grease goes in the inner:
    upload_2022-6-23_7-47-47.jpg

    Then do the otiker clamps:
    upload_2022-6-23_7-49-9.jpg

we left the small one on the silicone boot loose because CVJ talks about adjusting this once it is on the truck

front suspension is coming along. We broke one of the wheel speed sensors and while searching for replacement recommendations came across an old posting by @zippsub9 that he had some spare oem. We contacted him and he mailed one out for free! Thanks!

and we think we decided on a tire size (295 70 17 ~11.6"x33.25") based on clearance checks with our 3d printed tire gauge. with the spc arms in position F and the rear lower arm cam all the way out and the front cam in the middle, we are just touching the flare at full stuff and are clearing the body mount and pinch weld with 0 offset wheel:
