Biggest thing with ABS from my experience is to make sure you properly flush your brake fluid on a regular basis and make sure if there is any special bleeding procedures. I can personally tell you that on the FJR1300 there is a special procedure to actuate the ABS pump to flush out the small amount of fluid stored in the ABS block. The problem is if you never brake hard enough to activate the ABS that fluid just lays in there and eventually the spool valve that's in the ABS block can corrode and stick fast rendering your ABS inoperable. This block is not a serviceable item and must be replaced in its entirety costing a small fortune. The flushing procedure is built into the bike and fairly easy to perform but you really want to flush that fluid and do this every 2 years for best results. I have no first hand knowledge of how any other manufacturer or even Yamaha model might be.

That being said if I have the option I will purchase an ABS model when offered.

Surprising how stable at highway speeds, more so than the Chief, yet the big heavy Chief surprisingly more nimble/turns in better.

Only got a couple hours in tonight. Will observe more this week. For science :)

Stock suspension is crap and the brake pads suck. Replace those items and you have a really reliable fun bike.

Bought a new CRF300L in November 2021. Sold it in March of this year. Nice bike but I was unwilling to spend $750+ to put a rear shock on it. I weight 180lbs geared up and that rear end is down right dangerous.

I would do this but I think riding my bike up the stairs in my house is frowned upon by my wife.

Every day it isn't actively accumulating snow or torrentially pouring.

I feel your pain, at least the rain finally stopped on the east side yesterday, high over here today is I think 67. We've already set the record for the latest 80 degree day over here, still waiting for that to happen.
