Those pesky consumers are the problem. Gotta raise rates to slow down their spending.
*Feds print and spend money like it’s a fire sale, implement polices that drive up the price of gas and oil and thus everything downstream*

*oil companies follow fed lead and slow drag US oil and gas production increases keeping prices high with Putin’s help*

Yep, damned consumer minions. Only green energy magic right now at a significant cost can save them.

*economy tanks. Pesky consumers defeated *

Circular problems are the worst. Every expenditure is someone else's income, so he's technically correct. Inflation slows once the end consumer goes "Nope, I'm not fucking buying that, I'll just go without."

You are helping with your potted meat diet, and should be commended.

However, perhaps phrasing along the lines of "We need to create an environment where consumers are more conservative with their spending" would go over a bit better than "I'd like to cut your pay!"

It’s a supply issue more than a consumer spending issue. Not enough oil and gas. Covid impacted production and transportation. Ships stuck in ports, chip shortages. Fertilizer shortages.

I agree, but until people stop paying those higher prices its moot.

    Silence of the Lambs avatar.

You know, I've seen that movie like 8 times...and I don't recall seeing a single sheep. Wonder what they're getting at.
