Drove across the border last year and the Border Agent was laughing and told me to have a look at the grill at my next stop. Had a bat stuck in the grill. LOL

Does the heat not affect the camera? I'm Fort Worth and it's been up to 106 for a couple of days straight and my truck sits out in the parking lot at work with no cover... hate to invest in the cam and then it doesn't work due to extreme heat.

Today I finally installed the Yakima racks to my roof. I had gathered all the parts to do this over a year ago and just haven’t had time to do it. Anyway, it worked out perfectly- it couldn’t have fit better. I mounted a vintage Yakima basketcase inside and below/flush with the top of the bars, and it rests about 1/2” above my roof. I used older Yakima control towers, mated to the new, made for Tacoma, landing pad 24 bases. Instructions that they came with were perfect. They are far stronger than factory roof racks, far better looking in my opinion, and far less than prinsu racks. Very stoked on this-
I trimmed down long bars so there is 4” on each side with Yakima surf strap hook end caps.

How do you like the K&N intake? saw a couple of vids on Youtube about it and hoping to get some input before I jump off and buy one...

I just finished installing the same Skid Plate I bought it used off of Offerup for $100. I figured for that price WTH.
All the hardware was already installed I figured it would be a 30-40 minute job and it should have been.
But whoever installed the bolts and spacers swapped the middle and the front.
I realized this fairly quickly when I saw the gap between the middle spacers, bolts and the mounting holes.
I was a little annoyed at this point but figure it would be simple enough.
I'm guessing it had already been installed by the look of the hardware and especially the retainers.
I ended up have to cut every one of the larger retainers after spending nearly 30 minutes to get 1 off.
Moral of the story just spend the extra money and get OEM or at least new.
Wasted 3 hours of my life on some BS and nearly rage destroyed the thing in the process.

So for any future cheap asses out there short spacers in the front long spacers in the middle because not a single picture or video I could find showed this.

I added the spacer details on my Amazon review since none of them mentioned it there either.

I like it. Primarily, I got it to help my Taco breathe during towing. I have a small pop-up camper that we take all over the place along with kayaks and bikes. It definitely helps. I haven't run the numbers over several trips yet but from first blush, I have gained ~2 mpg while towing. It is important to note that I run at least 89 octane during towing, so that combination may yield better results than running regular. My truck is my daily driver and I haven't seen much improvement on my 12 minute commute. To be fair, the truck doesn't run long enough to get up to a decent running temp. The throttle response is a touch better and the intake sound has a lot more "throat", too. I was concerned that I would hear the filter hissing constantly. I had one on my '02 Tundra 4.7L that hissed to the point I almost removed it. I can only hear the hiss briefly at throttle tip-in on the Taco. I recommend installing an aftermarket intake. I believe they offer a relatively cheap and noticeable increase in performance. I'm biased toward K&N because they were one of the first in the business and I have never had any issues with the components or installations.

Anyway I installed new shocks awhile ago but just got the new wheels and tires and wanted to show some folks who might appreciate all the hard work of doing it yourself.

Over the past few days, I've done the following:
    Hit 30k miles
    Changed oil and oil filter
    Changed air and cabin filters
    A/C drain mod

I just remembered that I put on a Fumoto drain valve as well. Sucks getting old :annoyed:

Thanks man I like how it turned out.
Compressor would have worked better if my impact driver had a bit more power. Far from perfect but it got the job done.

Years ago I was renting a house and the water heater went out. My landlord stopped over with a new one and I had all the necessary tools already laid out like this. He looks at them, then looks at me and says Oh, you're one of those.

The accumulator delete went well, the slave cylinder cover put up a fight (top front bolt access), but it is done with no leftover parts. I bled a half of a bottle of brake fluid, it was working in the driveway - road test tomorrow. I removed the drive shaft for better access, it made allot of room, except that one cover bolt. I also took a photo of the Talon cat shield, and the two support guards I made. I understand they don’t make it “vault like”, but it reduces the access to the cats, and does not reduce cooling by a measurable amount.0F4496D6-1965-407A-A905-F3DA2A70EEBC.jpg92756D11-74C6-435F-88BC-61FE1A08BECE.jpg67266F51-C7E8-4A29-A340-22BAB178971E.jpg
