I always thought backwards on Slickrock was running from Utica to Alpine . Not that it really matters much as I’ve almost always ran it both ways.

With enough dedication to destroying it… maybe. Getting dragged out of the new part tho

No worries...lol. I look at my truck and think no way should that thing be on Slick Rock. It's decently fat at 5800 pounds. The biggest limiting factor to my truck is the driver and the overhang in the back. I bang that thing on rocks all the time. I need to replace the aluminum trim with steel.

I think I've run slick rock Alpine > Utica once back when my truck only had sliders and a stock suspension and a camper shell.

Two times I've run Utica towards Alpine, camped before Gauntlet, then the next day ran the trail back to Utica . Both times the truck was in its current format except the one time I ended up there last minute and realized I didn't have skid plates well into the trail.

This last time was the first time I ran it all the way from Utica to Alpine.

For me the biggest factor to success is having excellent spotters along with me.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

My truck is, in fact, heavier than yours

But my departure angle is probably significantly better.

Your truck is a friggen badass truck though. And you're a badass for taking it on trails others would shy away from, for sure.

That would have been before the re-route, though

Another taco on 33s and I ran it w/ @otis24 last weekend. I think I touched ever piece of armor that I have - bumpers, sliders, skids, "armored" paint on the driveline (lol), "armored" plastic fenders all have new scratches, but no new body or mechanical damage.

I doubt that you could make it that direction on 33s without a winch - all of us used one, even the dual locked, regeared folks

I’ve never run the trail, but have talked to people that have and it’s never been told to me that it’s that hard. I’ve done deer valley that people say is harder and it’s hard wasn’t bad at all.

That Jeep on 37’s winched after trying for like a half hour.

    Also, it was raining.

Is this the trail you guys talking about?
If so…jeez. Lol that’s awesome that you guys enjoy that, but I will quit like 200 feet in. The beginning where the guy got his front diff stuck…..ouch. No way you can do that on a truck like mine. 1.75” lift with 31” tires

It's not that bad. It's a fun trail. one of my favorites we have access to close by. Just like any trail though, you can make it as hard as you want with your line choice.

whats up..... Loon to buck is 10 miles and over halfway through the rubicon. The proper way to run slick rock before the guantlet was alpine to utica. post guanlet its is utica to alpine. Joaquin jeepers keep slickrock open. they have a poker run later this month is you have a built rig and want to sign up.

    https://joaquin-jeepers.company.site/.

Im out. Ill be back to post in a couple years.

That video honestly made it not seem as bad as I'd expected. The spot in the middle of the video with having to crawl up onto that 30-ish inch-tall rock coming out of the left turn and the last spot seemed like the worst bits.
