    18 months. Gas was about $2.35/gal only 18 months ago. I know, hard to believe. Paying close to $6 in IL right now.

    What if you are a new driver and the 1st time bought gas was yesterday?

    $6 a gallon wouldn't be nothing. They wouldn't have nothing to compare it to.

    Thanks. In your experience, how long do you think it takes before a permanent VIN is set for a car that's been built, assuming they actually start the build on my truck today.

    Once it updates to build on the system, the perm VIN shows there as well. If it gets build in time it should only be a day or two.

    @Rod03 check vin 3TMCZ5ANANM506168 please.
    It was supposedly already built and is supposed to have the tech package with bsm. If that is deleted I wouldn’t want the truck.

    End of March... crap, I started the process in Sept/Oct 2021... knew a OR DCSB 6MT w/premium would likely be a low production number, and have been told by dealer 1 (smaller) recently that likely will not be made, but dealer 2 (higher volume, engaged around May) seems more optimistic. Waiting to see if Toyota thinks people want a stick and leather in an OR or not... :)

    How are you getting the app to show you activity and mileage? I’m signed up for all the trials for connected services in the app with my permanent VIN (truck’s been built, just waiting for transport) but I haven’t gotten any alerts about activity. I tried to activate the “Remote” feature but it says I need to enter info to the truck’s onboard screen. Seen lots of folks talk about getting tire pressure and mileage alerts, just wondering how that happens. Thanks for any insight if you have the time share.

    If I'm reading my Temp Vin # correctly 3TMDZ5BN2NM19A311 it tells me it's a week 19 build which is the week of May 9th, Am I reading it right?
    Also it still hasn't been built from my understanding, it was ordered by the dealer in April. What are some of the delays besides the chips that could be holding it up?

    When they have to jerk out $120 from their wallet to fill the tank I bet they'll change their minds quickly!!!

    Young people, who are probably the majority of new drivers. Will often dish out a few hundred dollars for a pair of sneakers, sometimes multiple pairs of sneakers.

    Are they concerned with the price of gas?

    I'm not in favor of high fule prices, or going down the slope that brought them here.

    So my Toyota sales manager calls me this morning and says the latest e-mail from Toyota states the next 2,500 Tacomas produced will be 4x4's. The factory has been awaiting drivetrain parts and apparently they have arrived. He also said there had recently been a shortage of leather, but again, the factory was going to be putting more leather packages in the trucks. I have paid earnest money and been on a list for 90-days. A few people ahead of me at the dealership has recently backed out, so that moves me closer to the top. I have no idea if any of this is true, but I'm optimistic. I'm hoping for a mid-Fall delivery or I could possibly be getting a 2023 model?

    I think a lot of people will go with other truck manufacturers since Toyota is having such issues producing trucks,
