I'm afraid of breaking something and/or making it worse; Based on the picture, do you think this needs to be addressed before I go to New York on July 14th?

I've never delved into anything beyond the stereo system on my own and will likely play it safe by having my mechanic take this on...

You're probably right, but should I start a whole new thread or just have this one relocated? I feel like my questions are being answered now...

That pin is for the High Speed ground connection.
If you’re that worried about it, don’t use the blower on high speed until you can get it fixed.

It’s not that bad, I’ve seen way worse. It’s really simple, just use a small pick to get under the terminal tab/contact point and push it up to get better contact, then add dielectric grease. You should address is asap before it gets worse and melts or causes a short in the resistor.

Things warm up and get hot in electrical circuits when something is loose. One way I correct loose mating connections is to carefully encourage the male prongs one way or another (bend it) so that once reattached to the female end, better contact is happening internally. I would focus on the suspect male pin and either bend it very slightly up OR down, not side to side. Needle nose pliers would be my tool of choice for this connector.

Would it still hold a charge? Your house came with a couple of Tappan-branded Nordyne units, and the new one was a Rheem...?

Do you have a friend who has experience with electrical? If that wire with pin someone linked above is the correct one for your connector it would be easy enough to replace and butt splice the wire in for someone whose done such things. Not hard really.

Yeah, but he doesn't like doing anything but stereos on vehicles he doesn't own; My mechanic will take care of me. I've sent a lot of business his way over the years and he cuts me deals on both parts and labor!

    It did not.

If that was the cause the entire wire would show signs of overheating not just at this connection terminal.

Get a new connector and splice it in if that is what makes you happy. I would solder the wires together and heat shrink them.

That's what I plan on doing; As I've said before, I don't feel comfortable taking on this kind of electrical work myself (especially when it's summer and the electrical involves my truck's air-conditioner), so my mechanic is going to be doing it next Tuesday. My friend is bringing his Altima in to get inspected on the same day, and my mechanic has fully-equipped customer lounge, so we'll probably just end up watching The Simpsons on Disney+ with my mechanic's mother-in-law (also the receptionist) while our vehicles get worked on; Should be a good time!

That's actually pretty cool, though I can't tell if it's a cut-and-shut hackjob where two Trackers were combined, or if it's just really poor bodywork; I can definitely tell you that the wheels are from a Suzuki XL-7...

    Smoker?
    Hell no.

Also, I don’t care fandangled idea folks come up with, aside from completely replacing fabric covered items, you will not entirely remove the stench,,, ever.
There’s a reason trade in on smoker’s vehicles take a 4 figure hit.

I detailed cars at a huge family of dealerships in my area from the beginning of September 2018 until the end of June 2019; One time in the fall of 2018, we got a late model Nissan Armada on a trade. The thing was fully loaded and in excellent shape except for one thing; The previous owner was obviously a stoner, and the interior smelled so strongly of weed that you felt liked you'd get high just taking a deep breath in that vehicle. I only detailed vehicles that were recently sold and the shitbox trade-ins that were going to the wholesale auction, and the trades that made it onto the dealer lot were detailed by the more experienced guys; For vehicles that stank of cigarette smoke, they used these "chlorine bomb" things that could poison you if you breathed them in, and they worked from what I could tell! I am assuming that a chlorine bomb was used on the baked out Nissan SUV, because they put it on the lot.

Would the 3rd gen provide a meaningful improvement to your every day life? If not, keep your truck with it's new frame and bomb proof engine, and get Woolwax on that thing yesterday. I think its an easy choice.
